Capítulo 10: CH: 10 Turn the Turtle

Clatter, clatter!

Anton hurriedly ran downstairs, jumped onto the chair in front of the bar, and stared at the bar owner, Old Tom, who was sitting opposite him. "How do I get to St Mungo's Hospital?"

Old Tom shook his head, leaned in closer, and said in a low voice, "St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries only treats wizards injured by werewolves, not the bloody werewolves themselves, mate"

"Damn it!," Anton exclaimed, struggling to comprehend, "Werewolves are all wizards who've been injured, so why aren't they treated like human beings?"

Old Tom sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "If it were just a matter of being a werewolf, it wouldn't be so bloody repulsive. The main issue is that they can turn other folks into bloody werewolves."

"Become a blimey irrational beast every time the full moon rises!"

"People ain't just afraid that getting bitten by a werewolf will turn 'em into one, but even the saliva and bloomin' hair shed by a werewolf can transform folks into werewolves themselves."

Old Tom approached once more and said in a hushed voice, "If anyone finds out that me pub is servin' werewolves, no one will come 'round 'ere again, d'ya understand?"

Anton fell silent, contemplating the plight of those ordinary individuals who had unfortunately contracted certain diseases.

"I'll put him in the suitcase and leave later," Anton said, looking at Old Tom seriously.

Old Tom nodded, visibly relieved. "I'm fond of young wizards, y'see, 'cause you lot represent the future of the wizarding world. But that's as far as it goes. Consider it me greatest act of goodwill."

"Lupin was hit by the Cruciatus. I didn't expect it to hurt him so much!" Anton pursed his lips and stared at Old Tom. "Where can I heal him?"

"The Cruciatus?!" Old Tom seemed just as shocked. "Well, ye won't be able to take 'im to any descent 'ospital unless you can explain to the Auror who attacked 'im."

This...

Anton doesn't dare to talk about Aurors now. In his suitcase, there is a dark wizard's corpse, a lot of black magic research materials, and potions.

If the Ministry of Magic intervenes, maybe he can get away safely, but these things will probably be confiscated.

That's what he's paid for with his entire life. Why would he turn it over to the Ministry of Magic?

Anton's expression changed. "That is to say, are there some hospitals that are not as descent?"

Old Tom nodded, took a small piece of paper from the counter, and wrote down a string of addresses. "Exit the pub, raise yer wand, and the Knight Bus will take ya right to this 'ere address. The doctor is a goblin called Pedro, like shiny knuts."

"Thank you very much!" Anton took the paper with both hands but found that Old Tom couldn't let go of it.

He stared at Anton. "Wizards and intelligent creatures wandering in the chaotic land be extremely dangerous, little chap. You 'ave to be mentally prepared, ya know."

Anton nodded, carefully placed the piece of paper in his pocket, and gazed at Old Tom earnestly. "I am indebted to you!"

Old Tom chuckled, "I quite fancy what you're saying, lad."

...

Anton hurried back to his room.

He opened the suitcase, placed Lupin back inside, pondered for a moment, and then discovered a few clean crucibles to store Lupin's food.

He was frequently hungry and concluded that he needed to seize an opportunity in the future. He must acquire a small, traceless expansion spell bag and pack enough food to last him a year!

Of course, that's beside the point.

Instead of leaving immediately, he climbed into the suitcase and entered the inner space.

The interior space is not particularly spacious, merely a hall of approximately 20 square meters, which pales in comparison to the suitcase in Newt's possession in the film.

On the left side, there are bookshelves filled with bottles and jars of assorted potion ingredients, while on the right side, there is a bed and several bags of wheat flour. In the corner, you'll find an assortment of bottles, jars, and water tanks.

Anton swiftly sifted through various sources of information.

He must promptly learn an offensive magic spell!

Otherwise, he will be defenseless in the face of a crisis. However, with Lupin currently in a coma, he has no means of teaching himself.

In addition to the assortment of books and materials left behind by the old man Fiennes

Now, the only thing he can hope to learn without a teacher and learn immediately is the Imperius Curse, one of the three unforgivable curses. Fiennes mentioned that this spell bears a striking resemblance to the 'Soul-shifting charm' he taught Anton.

However, learning the Imperius Curse is both dangerous and futile.

First and foremost, it is said that practicing black magic will corrode the wizard's soul, leading to twisted, evil, murderous, and cold-blooded behavior.

Secondly, if anyone discovers that he has cast the Unforgivable Curse, the most probable consequence is a lifetime spent in Azkaban.

Anton clenched his fist in anger as he gazed at the unconscious Lupin. "I fought tirelessly for you, and I relied on you to be my mentor and protector in the future."

Not to mention his deep connection with his beloved characters from the "Harry Potter" series, Lupin is kind, understanding, and formidable.

Lupin is an exceedingly trustworthy and dependable individual.

Anton can entrust his suitcase to Lupin for safekeeping without any concerns of it being opened without permission.

Throughout the entirety of the "Harry Potter" story, he could never encounter another person like Lupin.

In this world that appears both familiar and unfamiliar, Lupin is the person he needs.

It is worth the risk for him!

The old wizard's bookshelf is roughly divided into two sections, each with its own set of bookshelves.

The left bookshelf is filled with books and experimental records pertaining to potion refinement. The research on the 'Oculus' potion alone takes up half of the shelf.

The right bookshelf is dedicated to spells.

Interestingly, the majority of the content revolves around the observation of various magic spells through the lens of the 'Oculus' potion.

Various peculiar book records occupied half of the bookshelf.

Finally, I stumbled upon a notebook tucked away in the bottom corner, its cover reading "The Apprentice Journey of the Great Alex Fiennes."

"Tsk." Anton chuckled, "This old man is quite self-absorbed."

Let's open it.

===============================

On the night of July 22, a heavy rain poured down.

The learning process was arduous, leading me to focus solely on mastering the fundamental attack and defense abilities, while leaving the remaining opportunities for my beloved potions.

For attack, I opted for the Cruciatus curse. As for defense, I selected 'The Shield charm'.

Other abilities can be substituted with magical items, such as enhanced mobility, and I can choose a broomstick that fulfills my needs.

===============================

On the late night of December 3rd, a blizzard raged.

I am in love. Aurora is a clever girl who has chosen the same path as I have.

Her expertise lies in spells, and she clearly possesses a natural talent for it.

Our partnership is a journey where we fill in each other's gaps and complement one another's weaknesses.

I take great pride in my profound understanding of the Cruciatus Curse, which never fails to astound her.

She, too, possesses an abundance of fascinating ideas regarding a range of magic spells that aim to profoundly alter the soul, such as the Imperius Curse.

===============================

...

"I found it!" Anton's eyes sparkled in excitement.

According to the book's introduction, the Imperius Curse, one of the three unforgivable spells, is not a simple, fixed spell.

Unlike the two spells that inflict harm upon the soul, namely the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse, the Imperius Curse leans more towards subtly manipulating the soul.

Within the same series, there are dozens of 'Soul spells'.

The spell that bears the closest resemblance to Anton Institute's 'Soul-shifting curse' is not the 'Imperius Curse', but rather the 'Soul-shifting curse'.

The Old Witch used a metaphorical comparison, likening the spell to flipping a turtle over.

The effect of the 'Soul-shifting curse' is truly intriguing. It shifts the human soul by one dimension, preventing it from aligning properly with the body. The ultimate result is akin to the state of 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Anton swiftly jotted down the various points mentioned above.

I intend to study while on the road.

While this may not be the safest option, Lupin lying beside him has grown extremely pale, and he may not have the luxury of waiting for Anton to learn the spell gradually.

"It's quite risky," Anton sighed. "Luckily, the two spells are similar, so I should be alright!"

He casually flipped through the content towards the end and suddenly found himself staring at one particular page in utter astonishment.

===============================

On the noon of May 29th, chaos ensued.

Auroa, in a state of madness, committed unspeakable acts. She took the lives of our teacher, everyone, and even attempted to take mine.

Fortunately, her desire to end her own life prevailed. She subjected herself to numerous curses, causing her body to be torn apart into countless pieces.

I vow to keep my distance from these dreadful spells that tamper with the soul throughout my life.

===============================

...

Anton gulped, suddenly overwhelmed with the desire to erase the memory of what he had just recalled.
