WHEN FAKE NEWS BECOMES REAL

"Why shouldn't I be here? I arranged all this just for you", I replied to him as I pointed to the armies before me.

"And you Noble families will listen to this bastard boy?" Prince Heller asked those from the other families.

"The Duke of Kaleon's enmity is with your Mithridocus family, not with us", Duke Corrigey told Heller.

"Alright, let's fight. Do you think I am a pushover?" Prince Heller shouted out.

"Now", I shouted out.

Suddenly, a large smoke appeared from the ground that surrounded the guards of the Mithridocus family. Soon, most of their men fell to the ground, affected by some kind of poison.

"What is happening?" Prince Heller asked.

"Fool, you have been poisoned", I told Prince Heller.

"Impossible. Why are all of you not affected by poison?" Prince Heller asked me.

"That is because this smoke is only part of the poison. It must be combined with something else before it becomes a poison that restrains your magic, like the soup you drank in the morning", I replied to the prince.

"You poisoned our food?" Prince Heller screamed at me as all his clansmen fell and growled in pain.

"Your poison will not affect me", Prince Heller screamed at me while trying to fly away but suddenly he dropped to the ground as well to the surprise of everyone around there.

Prince Heller was a powerful templar whose magic was at the Legendary tier. He could resist the poison that he ingested at his level of magic. However, his magic was suddenly restrained for some reason and the poison began to have an effect on him.

"How did you manage to poison the Legendary ranked templar?" Cardinal Dean asked me.

"His magic was suppressed by a few tiers momentarily", I replied to him.

I have another Chaos Skill after the Chaos Field that could reduce the magic of those in an area. I narrowed the area to where Prince Heller was, which increased the intensity of the magic suppression.

Once his magic was suppressed, he couldn't resist the poison in his body with his powerful magic and he was poisoned.

"Young Earl of Kaleon, if you could poison the Mithridocus family so easily, why did you need our help to arrest them?" Prince Raslee asked me, as the church started arresting and tying up the Mithridocus family members.

"Yes, why involve our families too?" Duke Corrigey asked me in surprise.

"Well, for a start, I need all of the Mithridocus family to be gathered in one spot before the poison could effectively affect all of them. Only when facing the threat from the city's armies and the noble families, will they come out in full force to fight or escape", I replied to them.

"That is not a good enough reason to involve all of us in your charade? There are many other ways to poison the Mithridocus family," Minister Holden asked me.

"Well, I will destroy the Mithridocus family today, but I won't be the only one facing the wrath of the entire Mithridocus family across the kingdom. Now we share that burden together", I told them.

"You are making use of us?" Duke Corrigey asked me.

"Yes, and I told that to the prince when he asked you to contribute to this fight. This is a Win-Win-Win-Win situation. All your families will now have all of the Mithridocus family's wealth and properties in Tarah city. With all this gain, what is with incurring some enmity with the Mithridocus in the other cities?" I replied and asked Duke Corrigey.

"Without their base in Tarah city, the Mithridocus family's influence across the kingdom will be diminished", Prince Raslee added in support of me.

"Besides, we are only following the orders of the church", I said to them.

"What if the Church later finds Prince Heller and his family innocent of practicing dark magic?" the leader of the Demetriodes family asked me.

"Duke Armanos, once the church takes people in for an Inquisition, there will never be an innocent victim who will return, whether they are innocent or not", I replied to him.

"Should we be wary of you from now on, young Earl of Kaleon, for pulling something like this, destroying a major family in the city in one stroke? Will our families be next?" Duke Armanos asked me.

"It is good to be frank, Duke Armanos. I believe only in Win-Win scenario. If you are not against me, I will have no reason to be against you, we might even make profit together", I told the duke.

Suddenly, the ground where Prince Heller fell onto rumbled mysteriously.

"You will not be able to kill me with this cheap poison?" Prince Heller shouted out to us suddenly.

Suddenly, bones protruded from Prince Heller's body, protecting him with powerful skeleton armor as he transformed into a skeletal being.

"Deviant, it is true you are a deviant", Cardinal Dean accused Prince Heller.

Like Khaleaf, Prince Heller was also a practitioner of dark magic of the skeleton kind.

"Well, your paper is not fake news after all. The Mithridocus family are indeed deviants", Prince Raslee said to me.

Suddenly, several other elders from the Mithridocus family rose into the air, their bodies transformed into skeletons like their patriarch.

"The entire Mithridocus clan are deviants", Cardinal Dean shouted out angrily.

"It seems like we have a role to play in this after all", Duke Armanos said to us as he flew toward the skeletons.

The Mithridocus family's clansmen underwent a ghastly transformation, morphing into skeletal entities.

Bones jutted out from their frames, fashioning formidable rib cages that shielded their chests. Skulls adorned with sizable bones served as skeletal helmets, and their limbs elongated into skeletal forms.

Upon completion of this eerie metamorphosis, these skeletal beings dwarfed ordinary humans in size.

Their bodies were now enveloped in resilient skeletal armor, impervious to easy destruction. In the event of any damage, they exhibited a remarkable ability to regenerate, emerging even mightier than before.
