"Why am I worried to hear this plan of yours?" Lex said as he traced the lip of his whiskey glass.
I swear he and Alexander had a drinking problem, but those were thoughts for later. I needed to focus on our discussion.
"Because you're a coward that fears his best friend?" I teased him in a pathetic attempt to lighten the mood.
"With good reason," Lex said as he narrowed his eyes. "You don't know Alexi the way I do."
"Shouldn't I fear him more?" I questioned.
To my surprise, Lex laughed at me and shook his head.
He took another glass and poured some of the brown liquid for me.
"What's with the reaction?" I asked as I took the glass and drank, letting the heat of the alcohol flow through my body.
"Of all people, you have the least to fear," Lex said, his tone more serious now.
"So do you want to hear my plan or not?" I asked him.
My cousin hummed in reply as he drummed his fingers on the desk.
