I wanted to go after her, as a matter of fact I had made a move to go after her despite her telling me not to, but her cousin kept me back.
"Let her be," Lex told me as he shook his head. "She needs her space."
"I don't see you doing the same," I said, yanking my arm away.
"It's not the same," he sighed. "Want to get a drink?"
I looked back toward the doors through which she had disappeared.
"There is nothing you can do for her at the moment," Lex told me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
I couldn't help but wonder if she would feel better if I forced her to stay in my arms.
"You just danced with her like you loved her, held her like she was the only woman for you, give her time and space to process all of that," Lex said as he gripped my shoulder. "Alexi, you know that I more than anyone would love to see you two happy and together again. Let time work it's magic here."
