Capítulo 3018: Chapter 2175: Battle of the Two Cities! (15)_1

As the saying goes, all tactics are adaptable, and God only knows Natasha and Captain America's current mission is to negotiate with the two Starks, persuading them to reconcile and solve the city fusion trouble first.

Moreover, Shiller made a good point–when you're dealing with one problem, create a bigger problem, and suddenly the first issue doesn't seem like a problem anymore.

Now, the two Starks don't need to fight over ownership of Stark Industries Building as the Stark Building has been blown up.

Indeed, the stuff hanging beneath the Green Goblin's airship was incredibly abstract. Many may assume that the most destructive part was either a segment of the Brooklyn Bridge or the Hulk stuck on it. But in reality, physical attacks couldn't destroy the Stark Industries Building alone.

The mages were the deadliest part.

The mages didn't WANT to stay. Technically, they could have let go, but the problem was that the magic casting environment wasn't favorable. Opening a portal might lead them to God knows where, and they certainly didn't fancy another day in the sewer.

Out of caution, the mages didn't leave immediately. But when the candy-gourd was swinging towards the Stark Building, they knew they had to leave.

With a metal body from head to toe, hitting the bridge above was one thing, but if The Hulk came down, it would be the end for them. Opening the portal was now non-negotiable.

Normally, one portal would suffice, but people don't think that far in a stressful situation. More than a dozen mages used the suspension ring together, turning the hawthorn in the middle of the candy gourd into a bomb, which directly blasted open the Stark Industries Building's energy-based protective shield.

Then, this series of debris plunged into the vulnerable interior of the Stark Building, hitting precisely the upper-half part of the energy laboratory. The ensuing scenes were more spectacular than the major battle.

The first reaction of the two Starks witnessing this scene was –– "Pepper!!!!!!"

Truthfully, the moment they shouted this name in unison, both of them were stunned.

White Can complicatedly looked at the empty mech.

"She's okay!" said the Virtual Iron Man who controls the Stark Group system: "She's on the lower floor. The lab upstairs is vacant. She's safe!"

White Can didn't believe it and searched along the glass curtain wall at the fastest speed to find Pepper. The moment her shining armor appeared beyond the floor-to-ceiling window, Pepper let out a scream and backed away a few steps.

"Don't come!" she cried instinctively.

White Can clenched his fist. After he gazed at Pepper for a few seconds, he shot into the sky.

At this moment, Superman had just uncovered the pile of discarded equipment and rubble. He was part rescuing people and part trying to figure out what had just flown by.

First, he found a chunk of tar road surface, determining it most likely a part of some road. Just as he was coming to terms with this being the most bizarre aspect, the next uncovered debris made him realize the definition of being endlessly intrigued.

Some old steel frames looked familiar. Superman didn't initially realize the severity of the situation until he saw huge rivets, indicating possible wreckage of large-scale road construction equipment.

It wasn't until the classic top of a Brooklyn Bridge pillar came into view that Superman grasped the absurdity of the situation.

Yet the more absurd part was yet to come. He managed to dig out from the debris what appeared to be an ordinary scientist with skewed glasses and dusty clothes but without any injuries.

Then a bunch of monks wearing yellow robes twisted and tied up with red ribbons. It was a sight for sore eyes.

As well as the most terrifying sight, a man and a woman tightly embracing each other. It's unclear what they were doing mid-air, but the red-haired woman was lying contentedly on the rubble, not distressed at all from the disaster. Neither does Superman dare to think about it nor ask.

Finally, he dug out someone normal. Well, not exactly normal. Despite the severe crash, he wasn't injured and was able to extend an apologetic hand to Superman from the rubble.

"Sorry, heroic stranger, we've had a minor accident," the strapping man in a red and blue uniform apologized as Superman helped him up.

"Minor accident?" Superman looked around with a complex expression, implying the magnitude without directly saying it.

"Don't stress too much, just think of it as another alien invasion," the man said.

Superman wanted to protest that aliens shouldn't take the blame for this.

At this point, those who were prepared didn't need Superman to dig them out but jumped out from the building debris themselves. Green Goblin climbed out of the building debris, just to be greeted by Deathstroke's blade.

He narrowly avoided it, feeling indignant. He meant to mess with the Hulk or, at worst, stir up some trouble in New York. Where did this strangely armored mercenary come from? Why was he messing with him?

Green Goblin rolled to dodge Deathstroke's attack, pulled out a pumpkin bomb, and tossed it. After a cloud of smoke, Deathstroke's shadow was gone, but several missiles attacked from behind him.

Green Goblin turned to see Stark's Mecha, and although Iron Man did not have his face mask open, Green Goblin could sense his rage at this point; after all, he had unprecedentedly blown up his old home.

The Green Goblin's skateboard was broken, he could not even run away, his only option was to fight head-on, continuously throwing bombs towards Stark's direction, using the demolished building's debris as cover from Stark's missiles.

Captain America, noticing that Dr. Banner was alright, raised his shield and joined the fight. Accompanied by the sounds of an approaching helicopter, Hawkeye arrived swiftly, pulling back on his bow and launching several explosive arrows into the air.

Hawkeye's explosive arrows were exceedingly powerful, kick-starting a cloud of dust and debris in the damaged sections of Stark Building. After a few blasts, everyone began to show off their powers, frantically fleeing from the sight of the explosion.

Bruce extended his hand, using the Spider Silk Launcher to attach spider silk to the neighboring building, swinging himself and Natasha to the rooftop. Captain America leaped from the building, with his shield taking the brunt of his landing, and he escaped without a scratch.

Deathstroke swung to the opposite side with a grappling hook, catching Deadpool's leg in passing, and tossed him onto the rooftop as well. The mages one by one flew to the nearby square while Superman gently placed the unconscious Dr. Banner in front of them.

The only one in a tragic predicament was Green Goblin; with no means of flying and his skateboard broken, he was worse off with an explosive arrow at his feet.

The potency of the explosive arrow was substantial enough, and the Green Goblin was also carrying electromagnetic and pumpkin bombs. Moreover, before Deathstroke retreated he recklessly threw several small bombs towards Green Goblin, a mushroom cloud rose above the Stark Building following a loud explosion.

No one was worried about Green Goblin, as it was clear that the situation at Stark Building was more precarious.

The top six floors of the Stark Building were dedicated to Stark's private labs, with the most important being the energy and mechanical engineering labs; after having been hit by a crashing helicopter, the labs were essentially a wreck.

This time was much worse; a large-scale explosion spread fragments of collapsing debris from the building in all directions and onto the streets below, driving the pedestrians to scream and disperse in panic.

Common concrete debris was not the problem; the real issue was the debris from destroyed Mecha and various large pieces of equipment scattered by the explosion before falling from a great height, densely packing the sky like missiles.

Superman hurried to intercept them, flying around the entire building like an arrow released from a bowstring, shattering the larger pieces of building debris, then using his biological field to suspend them in mid-air.

Thankfully, he reacted quickly and efficiently; only a small fraction of the debris hit the ground, while any threatening fragments were prevented by him.

Just as Superman let out a breath of relief, there was a rumbling of falling debris from the top of the building. Looking up, he saw that the fight had started again on the roof.

Once the explosion on the rooftop subsided, Bruce swung back up using spider silk, digging the charred Green Goblin out of the pile of scorched ruins.

However, who got custody of the unconscious Green Goblin caused a disagreement, Bruce and "Justice Iron Man" agreed that it was best for Green Goblin to face legal consequences, but White Can couldn't possibly forgive the instigator who had blown up his house.

Initially, White Can didn't want to argue with the virtual-conscious Stark when he saw Pepper's terrified eyes, he could just build his own Stark Building, there was no need to snatch someone else's.

Yet, White Can didn't have the foresight like Justice Iron Man, he only knew that Osborn, as Green Goblin, deliberately crashed demons and devils into his house. If he didn't teach him a lesson, wouldn't any tom, dick and harry dare to bully him?

The silver-white battle armor landed amidst a pile of rubble, he pointed at Bruce, saying, "Hand him over to me."

Bruce stepped back, shook his head and said, "Over my dead body."

White Can didn't want to waste time arguing, and directly rushed towards him. The spider sense instinct inside of Bruce immediately responded, he quickly sidestepped and crawled onto the wall. After firing a spider silk onto the ceiling and swinging over, Bruce attempted to attack White Can from the back.

As White Can turned around, the cannon on his palm opened, a shield flew towards him, forcing him to turn around and dodge. Captain America landed, Natasha closely behind him, the two put away their weapons and Captain America addressed White Can saying.

"Tony, even though I don't know what is happening with you, I think we can talk. No one here wants to hurt you. You need to calm down, bro."

"You all stand on his side." A cold snort from White Can followed, "He is your comrade and good mate, no need to pretend to be nice to me."

Finishing his speech, he charged towards Bruce again. This time he immediately blasted the debris beside Bruce's foot, blocking his escape route, then took advantage of the moment when Bruce jumped to avoid his attack, smashing his elbow into his chest and sending him flying.

Captain America and Natasha, one on left and the other on right, attacked from the flank, Hawkeye provided cover with another explosive arrow, forcing White Can into a corner.

Just when everyone was engrossed in the fight, the ground beneath them trembled, and then it began to shake violently.

Everyone tried to keep steady by flailing their arms, Bruce, who was standing closest to the window, held onto the window frame and looked down; the entire Stark Building was slowly rising from the ground.

A strong figure was lifting the building, the red cape fluttering wildly in the wind, a roar echoed across the skyline of Gotham.

"GET OUT OF MY METROPOLIS!!"
