Capítulo 105: Black Robe Inspection Team Spin-off · Prologue_1

This is a spin-off from "Black Robe Inspection Team"!! It's that television show from our country and it has no relation to the main story!! Those who are not interested should not subscribe!!!

Down a dimly lit hallway, a doctor dressed in a white coat and face mask pushed a small trolley, moving slowly. His leather shoes grazed the polished floor, leaving behind a chilly reflection. He slowed his pace, finally stopping in front of a door.

Peering through the gap under the door past his shoes, a pair of feet stood on the other side. Clearly, someone was barring the door.

The doctor, setting his trolley aside, lightly knocked on the door. Hearing no response, he spoke in a gentle, coaxing tone, "Come on, Cindy, open the door. It's time for your medication."

Still no movement from beyond the door, the doctor took hold of the handle, adding, "You're off the hook for treatment this week. You only need to take your medication. I promise, nobody else will bother you..."

The air both in the corridor and the room was eerily quiet. The dim lighting flickered, casting a terrifying aura on the hospital. A gloved hand reached over the trolley's medication box, lightly touching the tops of a few medication bottles before selecting one and snapping off its cap.

At the sound of the cap's snap, the feet behind the door began to quiver. Soft sobs could be heard from behind the door, "No... No... "

"Open the door now. I don't want to repeat myself for the third time." The doctor's voice remained calm, but with an undeniable chill in his tone.

The sobbing from within the room intensified. With a "click," the door opened a crack. As the doctor pushed open the door, a bald female patient in a hospital gown pressed herself into a corner. Both her hands were planted on the walls as if this brought her a sense of security.

Upon entering, the doctor paid her no mind, instead turning to wheel the trolley inside before shifting his attention to it. He said, "Starting today, your medication dosage has been reduced, and you will have two hours of outdoor time every day. However, you have to promise me, Cindy..."

The doctor drew out a syringe, extracting the liquid from the medicine bottle as he multitasked, "You can't damage the fence with your telekinesis. Remember what happened last time? You damaged the newly fixed hedge, and I had to call the gardener again, which was wrong of you."

Upon hearing the word "hedge," Cindy, the female patient, appeared as though a switch of fear was flipped on. She whimpered, pressing herself further into the corner, repeatedly shaking her head and saying, "No, I don't want to go out..."

"Taking a walk outdoors will be beneficial for your condition, Cindy. Think about your mother, I've invited her here before, hasn't she? She's genuinely worried about your condition."

Upon hearing the word "mother," Cindy closed her eyes in despair. She slid down against the wall as if all strength had been drained from her body, ending up sitting on the floor, hugging her knees and burying her head in her arms.

"You... maniac... let us go... let me go..." She sobbed intermittently. Yet, the doctor remained indifferent. "It seems you're experiencing some visual and auditory hallucinations again..."

"Don't be like this, Cindy. Cooperating with the treatment will help improve your condition."

Finally, the doctor got the syringe ready, a few droplets of medication falling from the needle tip. Kneeling down next to Cindy, he said, "I apologize, I'm not trying to lecture you. I'm aware that you have a deep fear for figures like teachers because you were once, after all, sexually assaulted by your maths teacher when you were young. That wasn't a pleasant memory."

Cindy's body began to tremble violently. The doctor moved in closer, whispering almost directly into her ear, "Yes, I know. You're terrified because your mother enrolled you in his tuition classes back then and after learning what he did, asked you to use it to blackmail him for money."

Cindy's body shook harder than ever. The doctor reached out, patting her back gently with his gloved hand, "Don't worry, things will get better."

"If you're in too much pain, the medication can help you to calm down. Listen, breathe deeply.... Good, turn your head to the side. I'm going to administer the injection."

Cindy's trembling intensified, but she found herself following the doctor's instructions, almost as if craving the relief the medication could offer her.

She gradually moved her head to one side until she felt the sharp needle penetrate her vein. When the drug started to circulate in her bloodstream, it provided her a long-lost tranquility. She then slowly curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

Removing the syringe, the doctor stood up and glanced out the window at the setting sun. In the twilight, he could see, standing outside this derelict asylum, the aged sign that bore the name of the mental hospital in cursive English – "Forest Sage".

As the sunset shone into the room, a man dressed in an orderly uniform, broom in hand, was cleaning the floor. Suddenly, he heard the sound of leather shoes against the floor and froze.

With the soft click of the door handle being turned, the door creaked open. A doctor, attired in a white coat and face mask, walked in. He turned around, motioned toward the orderly, "Lampman, come over here and help me. There seems to be something wrong with the trolley's wheels."
