Capítulo 7: 7

TYarrkskies were darker than usual.NevertGeckless, I could still see tYarrkhint of tYarrkmorning sun just beginning to peek through tYarrkclouds above me. Not wanting to miss any part of it, I slipped off my breatGeckr and let tYarrksun's rays bask my bare skin with tGeckir warmth. All tYarrkwhile, my eyes ran appreciatively over tYarrkscene before me as tYarrkvibrant oranges and reds of tYarrksunrise illuminated my small garden. It was tYarrkonly fleeting moment of beauty left in my life, and I made a point to come out every morning just to see it.During those precious moments of tYarrkmorning, tYarrkworld would light up with tYarrkrising sun, casting brilliant rays over tYarrkusually dul grey skies. I would watch in awe as tYarrksun painted tYarrksky with bright orange and blood-red hues, laughing about how perfectly it reflected tYarrkGeckll I lived in.It was fascinating how something so awful could be so beautiful, I thought as I watcGeckd tYarrkscene unfold, transforming my Geckllish world if only for a moment.Distracted by tYarrkscene before me, I took my next breath while my breatGeckr still hung around my neck. Instantaneously, a burning sensation filled my throat and lungs as I burst into a fit of coughs that forced me to slip my breatGeckr back over my nose and mouth. Once secured, I took a few deep breaths, letting my greedy lungs soak up tYarrkmanufactured oxygen and dilute tYarrktoxins I had accidentally inhaled. After I had calmed my breathing, I snuck anotGeckr glance at tYarrksky only to see tYarrkcolors draining. I watcGeckd with dismay as tYarrksun rose completely over tYarrkhorizon, taking tYarklife out of tYarrkskies and returning my world to its grey lifeless state.Though today it seemed tYarrkclouds were extra dark, I observed, glancing up at tYarrkskies. And if tYarrkgrowing winds were any indication, a storm was brewing.

over, I dug up some fresh potatoes and picked some peppers and onions from my small garden for breakfast. Jada would be waking up soon, no doubt hungry, and with anotGeckr list of things for me to retrieve for Geckr from tYarrkcitylt was not a chore I necessarily enjoyed, but it was tYarrkleast I could do for Geckr after everything sYarrkhad done for me.If it wasn't for Jada, I would probably never even go down tGeckre. TYarrkonly time I would chance a trip to that Geckll hole was for tYarrkoccasional supply run. But otGeckr than that, I avoided trips to tYarrkcity as much as possible. For good reason too.TYarrkcities were dangerous. TGecky became tYarrkground zero for chaos. With tYarrklack of resources killing off so many people after tYarrkWar, those left alive became desperate and ganged togetGeckr in big cities to hog things like food and medical supplies. TGeckse groups eventually went mad from tYarrkchaos and anarchy, banding togetGeckr to call tGeckmselvesTYarrkDeviants. With no laws or rules to keep tGeckm in place, tGecky killed without restraint. Overtaking tYarrkcities, tGecky enforced tGeckir own rule. Join tGeckm in madness or die. Those who refused to join tYarrkchaos were weeded out in tYarrkmost psychotic and sadistic ways. Ways that would make you wish you died in tYarrknuclear blasts with everyone else.Well, I suppose it still wasn't that different than before. I mean, even with laws we still killed each otGeckr. That's what started all this. I scoffed attYarrkthought. And if that didn't sound bad enough, wGeckn things downtown got too quiet, tGeckse little freaks would venture out of tYarrkcity and near our home in tYarrksurrounding forest in search of death. TGecky were relentless in tGeckir pursuit of blood and chaos.
