Furrows dug into my forehead, confusion swirling inside me like a storm, and a familiar knot tightened in my gut.

Lazaros caught the worry etched on my face, his gaze dropping to where my fingers lingered in Thomas's hair. He sighed, "He's fake, isn't he?"

I felt lost. He wasn't fake, yet sometimes... Well, he was. "I don't think the Void took him..." I pulled my hand away, but Thomas's pleading eyes begged me to keep stroking his hair. "Grace personalities saw them take him... wait-" I fished out the skeleton card. "Do you have any skeleton prisoners?"

Lazaros scoffed. "A few."

Relief washed over me. "Can you bring one to the human world?" My questions seemed odd to him, but he agreed anyway, probably curious where this was going.

"Are we taking him too?" Lazaros asked, glancing at Thomas with a questioning look. His eyes then flickered to me. "We need a way back for him, you know?"
