#An Unknown Medical Facility

Cacey groaned and opened her eyes. She could not tell how long she had been sleeping. She had a very bad fever; her whole body ached—her elbows, back, knees, ribs, everything. All the atoms of her body and every fiber of her muscles were in pain.

She felt she was breathing out fire as her nasal cavity burned as she exhaled. Her body was in so much heat that she could keep her mind straight. All she could understand was that she was lying on what seemed to be a bed in some medical facility.

She tried to get up, but she was so weak and dehydrated that it was impossible for her. She groaned loudly as her calf muscles got a serious cramp. Despite her weakness, she sat up and massaged her calf muscle. But neither the cramp nor the pain went away. She tried to stretch the muscle, but the cramp would not go away. She whimpered in pain once again, and her body involuntarily fell to bed due to the weakness from excessive exertion.
