"But we need to go back," I explained, and he sighed. "Do you know the date of today?" he asked, and I thought for a while.
"Tomorrow is the start of a new month, which means we will have just one month left before the court session. Do you really not want to try and fix things before then? We will have just thirty days left."
I chuckled painfully. If I was Elma, then I would have tried fixing things. But that's not the case; I am not Elma, and Elma has already made up her mind. She wants a divorce.
"There is nothing to fix."
"Your body doesn't say so," he whispered, slowly moving his lips to my neck. I could feel his breath fanning through my body. Suddenly I was powerless; my brain was functioning quite well, screaming that I should push him away and not let a married man get so close to me.
