Capítulo 14: The beginning of a new Journey.

Hemera POV.

I didn't really know what this guy was thinking. Upon the condition he still wanted to marry me? Any other wolf would have rejected it immediately. The wedding and reception went smoothly without a word from him. I didn't really panic because I didn't want to get my hopes up. The rejection from Crane thought me a very big lesson.

During the reception, I was inside washing the dishes when Karla came inside excited.

"Hemera you will not believe what just happened." Karla ran in and dragged me to the side of the kitchen.

"Alpha Elpis just gifted Lydia a 30-carat emerald necklace." She informed me.

"Okay, so?"

"God Hemera! You are such a kill joy." Karla groaned at me. "He gave her a very expensive necklace, more expensive than the one Eliot gave her."

Why would he do something like that.

"And how did Eliot take it?" I asked

"Not well. He is fuming at the moment but trying to keep a straight face. the look on his face is worth watching." Karla laughed.

Why would Elpis do something like that? What was he trying to achieve? The more I get to know this man the more I think he is crazy. Besides, I thought he said he will leave after the wedding.

"It seems you have got yourself a rich mate." Karla winked at me.

I rolled my eyes and kept on washing the dishes.

After the reception I went back to my room. He must have felt by now and I wasn't going to give myself high hopes. I didn't keep my hopes high so that dashed down like the way my hopes were dashed with Crane. I knew marrying him was so good to be true. Our room was in a mess and I had to tidy it up. Karla came in.

"Hemera, there is someone looking for you." She said and slowly, her lips curves into a smile. Someone came in from behind her. he came in and bowed to me. it was beta Drake.

"Alpha Elpis asked me to come get you. He apologizes for the delay." He said and bowed again. I heard Karla giggle from behind.

"He says I should give you this." He handed me a dress and shoes. "I will be outside waiting." He said and stepped out.

Karla suddenly jumped on me. "Hemera, you have found your mate." She said with so much joy on her face. she was so happy for me. I wish I could take her.

"You need to dress up. you have to go and meet your mate."

"What about you?"

"I will be fine. You go get what you deserve." She spoke. A tear dropped from her eyes making me cry. We were not just friends; we are like sisters.

I hugged her. "I will come back for you." I assured her.

"I am counting on it." She said with a smile.

I dressed up immediately and followed beta Drake. I don't know what is instore for me but I knew I had to try the best I can. I was escorted to the dining room where all the alphas were. Beta Drake opened the door and I saw Elpis standing.

Everyone looked at me confused. I looked at Crane. he couldn't even look at me. I wanted to look down. Their eyes were boring into my soul but I had to look at them. I can't look down now. I have come this far. Elpis looked at me with a smile stretched out his hand. I took a deep breath and walked over to him. I held his hand.

"I could like to introduce you to my mate, Hemera." He announced to everyone and smiled at me.

"What!" Crane stood up. "Hemera what is going on here?"

"What do you think? I am his mate." I told him confidently.

"What are you talk…"

"You can't take her." Eliot said more like ordered. Who does this fool think he is to tell me who I can and can't go with?

Elpis said with a smile. "You were the one who told me that I can pick my mate from your pack. So, I did as you said."

"She is an expectation."

"I wasn't asking." Elpis said. "And I would advise you not to get in my way. You know what happens to people who get in my way."

All the alpha murmured one the or the other while looking at me. I could feel them judging me. I put my head down.

"Don't look down." Elpis said to me. "Look at them with your head held high. Let them fear you." He looked at me with such caring. His eyes had a lot of concern in them.

"Well, Eliot, Crane. Thank you for the hospitality. I will be leaving now with my mate." Elpis and I left hand in hand. I knew at that moment that my journey had just started.
