Capítulo 9: chapter 9

Sierra pov..

I stood there, completely frozen as a rush of emotions flooded me, making it hard to move or speak. "I love you, my love, and I'm sorry," he whispered between soft kisses. His words carried a hint of fear that made my skin crawl, and as he pulled back, I saw his eyes had turned red. Even though he smiled, something about it felt wrong. A shiver ran through me, and I instinctively stepped back, trying to create some space, while he moved toward the box on the floor. He picked it up and held the photo I had taken earlier, his gaze fixed on me.

"I remember my life as a human," he said, his voice filled with sadness. "I thought I'd live like everyone else, but they cast me out, forcing me to suffer in the woods forever." With those words, he tore the picture in half, letting the pieces fall to the floor. A wave of sadness hit me, but I had no idea how to respond.

He walked over to the couch and sat down, his eyes still locked on mine. "Do you want to know more about me, maybe even my name?" he asked, his tone gentle but with a tension that made my stomach turn. I couldn't find the words to respond, but after a moment, I nodded, curiosity pulling at me.

A smile spread across his face, and he patted his lap, inviting me to sit with him. I hesitated, not sure if I wanted to be near him in this strange, unsettling mood, but slowly, I made my way over and sat down. His hand reached up, running softly through my hair as his smile never left.

"I'm so happy to have you as my mate," he said, and the word "mate" sent a wave of confusion through me. Mate? We weren't even married, yet he spoke like we were something more.

"When I was young, all I wanted was freedom," he continued, his voice growing darker. "My family did everything they could to make me happy, but one night, during a full moon, pain like fire consumed me. My family was scared and begged the villagers for help, but they didn't care. The next morning, I woke up covered in blood, trapped in a cage. The villagers screamed for my death, and my parents...they just stood there, watching. They let the villagers drag me into the woods to die. But instead of death, I became something else—half-man, half-wolf. Consumed by anger, I swore revenge, and my family was the first to suffer for it."

His story left me in shock. How could he have killed his own family? And why would he want a bride now? I looked at him, feeling lost and unsure. Finally, I managed to ask, "Why do you want a bride, then?"

He straightened up, his smile soft as he touched my face gently. "Because I'm lonely," he admitted. "I want someone to share my life with, to build a new family." His words hit me like a ton of bricks, and I quickly stood up, backing away from him. The thought of starting a family with him was terrifying. I pitied his pain, but I couldn't ignore my own fear.

I took another step back, and he looked at me, confused. "What's wrong, my love? Did I say something wrong?" he asked, his voice shaky. "I love you, and I just want to be with you."

I didn't answer. I just looked away, my mind racing with how to escape. But before I could act, he grabbed my hands, holding me tightly. "Why can't you see that I love you?" he said, his voice desperate. "I love you, my mate, and I want a future with you."

His intensity scared me, but I couldn't hide my fear. I pulled my hands free and stepped back, forcing myself to meet his eyes. "I don't love you," I whispered, finding strength in the words. His grip loosened, and he stared at me in shock. "What?" he whispered.

"I don't love you," I repeated, louder this time. "Love isn't something you can force."

His expression darkened, and he grabbed my shoulder, his eyes blazing with anger. "I have a name," he said, his voice low. "It's Lexi. And you will love me, even if I have to make you." Fear surged through me as I tried to pull away, but he was too strong.

"Please, Lexi," I begged, using his name. "Please, don't."

He paused, but then pulled me closer, squeezing me so tightly I could barely breathe. "Please, my love, don't say that. You're hurting me," he said, his voice breaking. But I pushed him away, forcing myself to stay strong. "I'm not your love, and I never will be," I said firmly.

His anger flared, and he shoved me toward the bed, towering over me like a dark shadow. "If you won't love me, then I'll take it," he growled, his voice cold and determined. Terror gripped me, and I wished I hadn't spoken up. "Please, Lexi, don't," I begged, my voice trembling. "Fine, I love you. Just don't hurt me."

Tears streamed down my face as I looked up at him, feeling utterly helpless. He wiped them away gently, his touch soft despite the horror of the moment. "If you love me, then let's show it," he whispered. As he started to undress me, panic set in. I couldn't let this happen. I had to escape. I fought with everything I had, but his strength was too much. In moments, I was left vulnerable, shaking with fear, my heart pounding in my chest.
