Adeline's breaths came in shallow gasps, her hand clutching Helvis's tightly as if seeking reassurance in the face of uncertainty.

"You're right," Alia affirmed, "We need approval from King Ragnar and Prince Uzana. They must decide whether we prioritize saving Adeline or the baby if it comes to that."

Adeline, despite her pain, strained to hear their conversation. Fear gripped her heart as the reality of her situation sank in.
