After telling Calliope to be quiet, he mouthed his thanks before taking the blanket from her. The little dumpling grinned as if she had done a marvelous job. Then, she returned to her open storybook.

Calix carefully covered Leslie with the blanket. The air conditioning system worked well in chasing away the summer heat.

Bringing the blanket up to her shoulders, Calix quietly watched Leslie's sleeping face.

A smile was drawn on his lips as he savored this rare moment of intimacy with her. Her sweet floral scent gently tickled his nose, leading him to hug her closer.

'She hugs me back ah.'

Sensing his lips tremble in joy, Calix abruptly pursed them together. He still couldn't believe his eyes seeing Leslie nestling comfortably in his arms. She even returned his embrace.

This was their first time lying together and sleeping so intimately like this. Usually, there was quite a distance separating them.
