Capítulo 66: Megaproject
Chernov only feels the burden on him become heavy. Of course, without any doubt, he will keep his faith, but it just feels different when someone asks you to do something more big. If there is nothing happens, he will keep his rank of Colonel for his entire life, this is the maximum rank that a special force can reach.
But now, he may need to work hard, do something else, to get to a higher position, even the Secretary or chairman of the country, to help the National Will.

"Yes, I have always been here. Remember what I said? The Soviet Union is me, I am the Soviet Union. Sokolov who was once Chernov's adjutant has now become one of the officers to look after him, as they think he has lived and fought with Chernov for a long time. If there are any slight changes to Chernov, he can spot them.
He walks in front, sees what they saying, and only sees that on Chernov's chest, a symbol form by sickle and hammer are on it. A symbol that they are familiar with. The symbol are just like born on it, can not be scratch down, and also not like scar that are from weapon, it just like it connected to his heart.
"Huh!"
All of a sudden, Chernov woke up. Showing his eyes which turn red as well.
He told the other what had happened to him, and then it was quickly reported to their supervisor and, lastly, to Andropov.
"Will of Nation? Comrade Lenin? Interesting." Looking at the report submitted by his adjutant, Andropov came out with a thoughtful smile.
"How about the prediction by the deflectors? What are the analyses on it?"
"We believe every sentence may be correct and have some based, but when it joined together it become lies, Montage lies. We have checked on the few person names she gave, Boris Yeltsin, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Anatoly Chubais. Yeltsin was now the First Secretary of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee. We see that he is doing quite a good job in that area."
"For Gorbachev, I believe comrade Chairman you know him as well, he is one of the secretaries in the central committee, responsible for agriculture. And last Anatoly Chubais is an economist and academy that worked in Leningrad before the war started. We see his paper, finding he has the ideas of decentralization and privatization."
After listening to the report from the adjutant, Andropov starts to think about it.
"Doesn't matter, just continue to have surveillance on them, I still doubt whether they are the ones who save our country, just feel like they are going to make our country into capitalism after hearing your explanation. Andropov took over the profile and started to have a look at it. On the first page, the big word "Megaproject" was written.

Now, they are thinking of promoting this technology, the only requirement of it is to have a tall building in the city, with this, a shield can be activated and the taller is it, the more area it can be protected."

Andropov continues reading the profile on his hand, there are images of how the device prototype looks like.
"If we are going to build statues in all the country, and also with enough height, it will be a high cost. We are lacking man everywhere now, do we have enough manpower to do it?"
"Yes, we do. "Do you know about the Palace of the Soviets?"
Adjutant was stunned for a second.
"Yes, comrade Chairman. Do you mean we should add this into the plan as well?"
Andropov nodded.
The Palace of the Soviets was a project to construct a political convention centre in Moscow on the site of the demolished Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. The main function of the palace was to house sessions of the Supreme Soviet in its 130-meter wide and 100-meter tall grand hall seating over 20,000 people. Only the statue of Lenin, it has a height of 75m. If built completely, would have a total height of 416 meters.
The plan first came out in 1924, but due to various challenges, it only started its design in 1931. Yet, in 1931, Stalin's industrialization and collectivization process became a disaster, many only know there were millions of Ukrainians dead, but there were also more in the rest of the Union states. "I was just curious, what if we could combine the national will with the shield, does that amplify its power? Or anything else we could benefit from? This was just my suggestion, I am not an expert on it, if it is impossible to be done, then you can just ignore it."
Adjutant think for a while and answer,
"I will convey your opinion to the Ministry of Construction. I believe it shouldn't be a problem, our technology and equipment are different from what they were 50 years ago."
Until now, the proposal on Andropov's hands is not only half, there is another half, with the title of the army megaproject.
"Strategic airlift cargo aircraft? How would this be a megaproject?"
"Requirement from the building of the space army and our space program. It is a replacement of the Myasishchev VM-T. They need a larger aircraft that can carry or even airlift a space aircraft, the Antonov has already got their primary design, and as long as their design has been approved, they can build it out."

"There is an original word from the Director of the Black Sea Shipyard. To build an aircraft carrier, I need the Soviet Union, the Central Committee, the State Planning Commission, the Military Industrial Commission nine defence industry ministries, 600 related majors, and 8,000 supporting manufacturers just to build it. Andropov just feels a headache, almost every department is asking him to give them more resources to develop their program. Nowadays, even though he is still the chairman of the KGB, in action, he already started to be in charge and makes decisions for most of the significant events in the Union due to Brezhnev's health situation.
"Approve everything they need, but give priority to the building of the mega statues first, we need first to set up a shield to protect our city since we already know that gods in this world are true, we should not risk ourselves. We will not conduct any military operation before we have done that, tell Koldonov and Gorshkov to be patient."
The Adjutant noted down all his instructions and left the room.
Andropov takes a deep breath, it has almost been a year since they came to this world. The longer they stayed, the more they knew. The enemy army perhaps weak in front of their guns and artillery, but they are more mystery weapons or even what can be called magic are more destructive than that.
Well, it is useless to continue guessing the enemies mystery weapon that can cause mass destructive, improving the strength of themselves is the only thing they can do.
