What just happened?

I spotted the leader of Pandemonium fighting Jade, who was moving strangely slowly, so I shot out flames at the Pandemonium bastard and then swooped in closer.

But as I got within about fifty meters of him, I found myself falling at an alarming speed, hitting the ground before I even realized what was going on. However, it didn't hurt all that much, it seemed like I was plummeting at a speed that would break at least a few bones when I crashed down, but I feel mostly fine.

As I got back onto my feet, my eyes widened in alarm as I spotted the leader of Pandemonium also getting back onto his feet, with an irate grimace on his face, before suddenly charging at me as he turned his attention in my direction, his movements appearing to be incredibly sped up.
