Keagan hummed before looking at Devereaux again. "Why did you ask me about it, then? Did you think someone from the Pineberry Estate committed that crime? Is that why we're making this trip tonight?"
The man turned to face Keagan with a serious look. "There's a big chance that it's true. Aren't you going to get angry since someone you know dared to commit such a heinous crime against the Orpheus? After all, vampires could make a lot of thralls and drive those things into madness."
With a deep breath, Keagan just glanced at the driver, who kept his eyes on the road. She then turned to Devereaux again, meeting his hard gaze with her sharpened eyes. The missy answered, "Everyone in the Pineberry Estate respects the laws of the Orpheus and the walls built to protect humans. If someone turned a human into a thrall, I'm sure it's out of necessity."
