As Kenji's thoughts drifted into the distant future, the sound of his opticomputer brought him back to the present. Opening it again, this time it wasn't General Fleet Admiral, but a message from the pheromone matching center.

Given the rarity of a 100% pheromone match, the center had sent a message asking him to meet with the alpha. If they truly felt no connection and were incompatible, then so be it.

Kenji thought it best not to meet her.

He had his undercover mission at the underground bar that night, and no time thereafter. Decisively, he declined the pheromone matching center's suggestion.
