Phoenix cradled Snowball in his little kitten sling. Her sweet little baby peeked his little white head out of the bundle, watching the hallway pass by with interest.

There's no way I'll let my baby be unattended here.

The hallways were lined with tapestries, paintings, and other art depicting the history of the kingdom of Pristan. It was all colorful, dynamic, and masterfully made.

She understood nothing depicted on any of it.

As they approached the throne room, the guards posted outside opened the doors for them.

"Her imperial majesty Empress Isabelle von Nevremia and her consorts come to beseech the throne!" A herald announced as they entered the throne room. "All heed their approach!"

She pressed her lips together and lifted her chin, readying herself. Now was not the time for nerves or hesitation. She was not Isabelle the wife or momma cat, she was Isabelle von Nevremia, crown empress of Nevremia.
