When William Cole arrived at the entrance of the village, there stood an old woman, simply staring coldly at him and his companions.
Despite the fact that it was broad daylight, the atmosphere surrounding them was strangely chilling.
"We do not welcome outsiders in our village. Please leave," the old woman indifferently started to flatly dismiss them.
"Lift the restriction from Catherine, and we'll leave immediately," William declared.
The old woman chuckled. "Catherine? I do not recognize that name."
William's face darkened slightly. "You've ensnared a soul with your rituals and yet, you claim to not know Catherine?"
"Do I need a reminder?"
"A foreign lady from the evening before yesterday," he prompted.
"Oh, that lady," the old woman replied smugly, appearing indifferent. "She ran into a funeral procession and offended the dead."
"Not only did the carriage run over the body of the deceased without any apology, she even forcibly left," she continued.
