For the next few days, Catherine was so immensely distraught that she didn't know what to do. And that moment of weakness was exactly when Albert struck, sending a marriage proposal in exchange for granting their family a cash stream.

The now young adult Catherine was devestated, but knew that she couldn't reject this. If she did, more of her family would be in danger. Not like her father had provided her with a choice regardless.
