Capítulo 26: chapter 26 : Exposed
Later, I was in the lab working on improving a new shadow prototype when Juzo called me on my cell to ask me to watch the news on television.
Curious, I did so and what I saw was what was supposed to have happened since then. Several news channels were now talking about the corpses of strange creatures found everywhere, human victims, but that was the usual bread because they had been talking about it for a long time.
The unprecedented thing this time was the revelation of the images of our Gantz team against the oni because for some reason, all the members of the group except me thanks to my mask had their faces exposed but strangely, the population didn't all took it seriously because of Reïka's presence, certainly thinking that it was all for a shoot.
Luckily for me, I was wearing my mask because of the smell emitted by tentacled aliens so they didn't have anything on me besides the fact that I wasn't wearing the suit visually speaking. I love you Shadow .
Juzo told me that the others were starting to panic so I went inside to discuss it with them and when I arrived, Reïka was already there with her luggage.
When our eyes met, she was greatly embarrassed but I had an idea of what she wanted.
Reïka: Yami, I...sorry for barging in like that, it's just that I...my family, the studio...our faces were exposed on TV.
"I know Reika, there is enough room here so you can stay as long as you want. I know it can't be easy for you with everything you have to deal with and I wish you would have stayed.
But for the next few days, you'll have to continue living at home and it's the same for the others because I have a plan and we must definitely not be seen together until then"
Reïka: You have a plan? What does it consist of doing ?
"To simply continue your daily routine at home as if nothing had happened and to react as naturally as possible to the situation.
For example, Reïka could sue those responsible for these images for defamation. I will also go see our friends from the press to sort out a few details with them."
Kato: Yami they only did their job, you must not-(interrupted)
"Wow buddy, calm down. I'm not solving all my problems by killing, I'll just go see them to change some information."
Juzo: How are you going to do it?
"I have my little secrets. In the meantime, relax and enjoy your newfound freedom with your points. (looks at Kazé) Takeshi already knows how to activate the suit ?"
Kazé: Yeah, this kid is very smart, he even copies my movements. He managed to activate the suit instinctively.
"He's a good kid. The apocalypse predicted by Gantz will be here soon so you better keep the weapons and suits not too far from you"
After the last mission, everyone else was able to reach 100 points thanks to all the aliens that were there and the only ones below were Takeshi who was a new suit and Izumi.
However, my control over Gantz was complete and the last mission was the last for almost everyone.
I could resurrect and free anyone I wanted so I freed Takeshi. The only ones who were going to stay with me there were Kazé who liked fighting and Izumi who didn't have the total points but everyone else was definitely free.
A few days have passed and the information has been changed. Everything remained intact except that an amateur-looking video came out in which a guy in a black suit was fighting a humanoid wolf-like creature but the detail that shook people was the fighter's face changing all the time.
Sometimes he was a woman, sometimes he was an old man or even a child. Some faces like that of Reïka, the Japanese Prime Minister, American actors were even displayed on the person's face and this was the start of a new rumor about the group in black jumpsuits shown for the first time on TV.
Several searches had been made into the identities of the faces seen on television and were leaked to the public a few days ago showing everyone's homes and images of them.
I had already informed Kurono, old Suzuki and the rest to act as naturally as possible to the situation.
With this new video, new information came out showing that people in costumes could take the faces of whoever they wanted and that it was possible that the people exposed were for nothing because their faces were the result of imitations.
Kurono who was already under pressure from his family and harassment at school was cleared of all that with Izumi, old Suzuki had faked a heart attack at my request because of all this agitation and Reïka decided to stop her career because of the harassment she said she suffered but also because of pressure from family and her work.
Reïka had been the trump card of this plan because the announcement of the end of her career following all this harassment made the drama more natural and convinced her fans who got angry at the press for having destroyed their idol's life because of their lack of information, she had even decided to leave her house to stop being harassed for nothing. Yami had even spread the rumor of Reïka's suicide attempt.
She and the others decided to press charges and received a huge amount of support from the internet, bringing them all together in the public eye for the first time as complete strangers.
The public especially showed their indignation knowing that the health of a peaceful old man like Suzuki had taken a hit.
This affair had become a huge scandal because the lives of innocent people had been put in danger because of the press but the mystery still remained over the identity of the real members of what was called the Men in black on the internet.
With the plan having worked, the others were able to resume their lives peacefully little by little as the days went by and Reïka had finally moved in at home. They asked me how I did it and I preferred to keep it a mystery.
In fact, I had just created a very good holographic mask that could take on the facial features of anyone I wanted and with my control over Gantz I had located some werewolf-like aliens... no, THEY WERE werewolves.
Using telekinesis, I filmed myself with a simple phone suspended in the air in the middle of the fight against them for amateur and more natural images, making sure to clearly show my changing face.
Later, when everything became calmer again, some came back to live with me because I had prepared for each of them a holographic module for their faces in order to take any feature out and keep their identity unknown.
However, if the population had been perfectly deceived by my plan, this was not the case for everyone because from the shadows, certain personalities had remained fixed on the identities and disclosed addresses of the members of the Gantz team.
Vlad (invented character), the leader of the vampiric alien organization had seen several of his covents destroyed with all their occupants massacred by Valentina under Yami's request so that she could have fun.
He had already fought many of the Gantz hunters around the world with his men and none of these hunters had the ability to change their faces like in Yami's video.
While in Japan, Vlad had gathered dozens of vampires throughout the city of Tokyo to monitor the addresses of the team members because he intended to massacre them all and as mortal enemies, it was legitimate.
Humans had spent nights killing illegal aliens on earth so why shouldn't they be allowed to fight back ?
The problem was that Vlad wasn't the only leader of an alien race who was interested in the gang.
Damian (invented character), the leader of the alien werewolf community had the same intentions towards the team.
It wasn't because they were free from Gantz's forced hunts that the team had stopped training, they knew the apocalypse was coming so everyone wanted to be ready so they almost all trained at my gym in out of town and I was kind of a coach for them.
At the moment, Kurono was fighting in training with Sakurai and "Cherry" was taking a beating from Keï fucking Kurono.
Poor Sakurai wasn't a very physical person and his strength came from his psychic powers.
"Alright Kurono, you're making progress but Sakurai isn't really taking you seriously otherwise he would have crushed you." I said mockingly while eating a large tub of KFC Wings, of course I shared with Fenrir, that was the name I gave the dog. Finally he had a name!
Kurono: I'm literally dominating the fight and you're saying he doesn't take me seriously ?(looks at Sakurai) Is it true ?
Sakurai: (gets up) I...I don't know what you're talking about Yami. You must be wrong about-(interrupted)
"I've known about your powers for a long time, Sakurai. Stop making me out to be a liar, the consequences could be disastrous." I finished the sentence in a cold tone that made poor Sakurai flinch.
