The commander of the Ghanaian fleet was aboard the Iroquois-class destroyer, completely unaware that he would become the first target to be attacked. He had come to join the United Fleet hoping to gain an advantage, only to gain nothing at all; instead, he and his entire warship were blown to smithereens, leaving not a single survivor.
The Artificial Whale, when assigning attack targets, had already taken into account the interception capabilities of the targets. Therefore, to sink the targets in one go, it employed a strategy of launching six anti-ship missiles at a missile destroyer. Such an attack was equivalent to a rapid, consecutive saturation attack. Even if the target had some interception capabilities, under the superior performance of the anti-ship missiles, six missiles were enough to sink a missile destroyer.
