Capítulo 12: Continuous Level Up (2)

As the temperature around him dropped, he felt like he was being watched by thousands of eyes.

A cold shiver ran down his spine, but he resisted the urge to turn around and face his unseen observers.

They made no effort to conceal themselves as if they wanted him to know they were there. He sensed that the Usapils in front of him were not the biggest threat at that moment, as he felt an even greater danger looming behind him.

He wasn't sure how long he could remain calm while fighting in such a situation. He watched a group of monsters charging towards him in slow motion. Despite their low-level agility boost from their racial skill, the Morsan's ritual chants made them look like sluggish insects crawling on the ground.

It was as if he had cast a debuff to decrease their speed. Suddenly, a level 9 Usapil jumped out of the nearby grass and dashed him, despite its reduced speed. But it was too late. The Great Sword Tizona sliced through the air, cutting the Usapil in half before it could even cry out or fight back. As it died, a familiar metallic voice echoed in his head.

Morsan witnessed a bewildering scene before him, causing him to ignore the metallic voice in his head.

Blood from the severed Usapil creatures gathered in the air and formed a red sphere which then fused with his sword.

Despite another metallic sound on his head, Morsan was too captivated by the spectacle to pay attention.

Although he was not one to space out in the middle of a battle usually, Morsan found himself lost in the moment.

"Don't get distracted by these small things. Focus on the battle..."

Suddenly, he heard Tizona's voice in his head, shouting at him to focus on the battle. It warned him that things would only get worse if he was distracted by such small things.

Morsan regained his senses and quickly used his [Brute Charge] skill to dash forward and attack the nearby monsters. He hunted them down effortlessly with the help of Tizona's long reach and their slowed-down speed.

Morsan frequently used his [Taunt] skill to attract nearby monsters within a 20-meter radius. The Usapils came in endless waves, their blood flooding everywhere around him.

Tizona absorbed all the blood, endlessly, and Morsan realized why the sword was called the sword of gluttony. He didn't even have time to check his status, even though he knew he had leveled up. In just one hour, he had killed more than 40 Usapils. He was unsure of how many skill points he would receive for each level up after his bloodline fused, but he put all of them into his [Taunt] skill without hesitation. One doesn't need to look at one status when leveling up their skill since just their thoughts and permission were enough to do that.

In this world, individuals usually receive a single skill point for each level they achieve. These points may be used to purchase new abilities from their skill tree or to strengthen existing ones. However, talented individuals like Morsan would occasionally receive two skill points for each level up. Following his bloodline fusion, though, he was unsure about the number of skill points he would gain in the future. He hoped that this time he would receive three skill points for each level up. After using his skill points on the [Taunt] ability, he experienced a significant increase in its effectiveness and range, from 20 to 100 radius.

He couldn't do anything but kill and store the monster's corpses.

Morsan had been fighting monsters for two hours straight, but Tizona showed no signs of stopping. He couldn't help but sigh at his sword.

"Look like I underestimated this sacrificial magic all along."

"*%&#@#"

He heard some unfamiliar sound in his head, but he ignored it, thinking it was some kind of thing related to this sacrificial magic.

Normally, he would have worn out from such a prolonged battle. But thanks to Tizona's [Life Exchange] ability, he felt a new surge of energy filling every fiber of his muscles whenever he started to feel tired. It was a magical feeling, his body brimming with energy while his mind felt tired. He had never felt like this before. In the past, it had always been his body that gave up first, but this time it was quite the opposite.

As he entered his third hour, he began to notice something unusual. The Usapils he encountered were all of a higher level, each providing him with approximately 30 to 45 experience points upon defeat. As he continued to vanquish the monsters, he felt an increasing sense of scrutiny from behind. Along with the Usapils, he also started to face a variety of other formidable foes.

Morsan frequently gets injured while fighting a monster that looks like a boar. It takes at least two heavy slashes to kill the monster as its tough mane protects its neck from being easily sliced off. He can't hear Tizona's voice anymore; it has been silent for a while now as if it's busy doing something more important with the blood he offered.

Sometimes he encountered deer-like monsters that could rip him apart with their forehead horns. Thanks to Tizona's [Life Exchange] skill, he survived despite severe blood loss.

Unbeknownst to him, Morsan found himself deep in the forest while hunting down the Usapils.

He had been fighting for what felt like decades, facing and killing waves of monsters all alone. At some point, Morsan couldn't keep his calm anymore and used his [Berserk] skill to kill all of the monsters surrounding him.

"Boy!!... Get hold of yourself!!.. boy.. boy!!"

During the fight, he occasionally heard an unfamiliar voice in the distance. Each time a metallic sound echoed in his mind, he allocated points to his [Heavy Slash], [Brute Charge], and [Taunt] skills without even looking.

After using the [Berserker] skill, his heart pounded and he felt an indescribable darkness expanding from the depths of his heart. This was a new feeling for him, yet he found it fascinating. His vision turned red as deep hatred arose in his heart. Rather than resisting it, he accepted it willingly.
