CASSIE
The days flew by in a blur. It's been a whole week since we moved back into our old house, and I've been cooped up here the entire time.
Ever since I bumped into Theo at the mini-park, I haven't stepped foot outside. I just told Dad I wasn't feeling well and needed some rest. Deep down, I know he doesn't fully believe me, but he always trusts what I say. Even if it doesn't make sense, he still believes me because I'm his daughter.
Letting out a sigh, I was just about to close the book I had been reading when I heard a strange noise coming from my bedroom door. Furrowing my brows, I got up from my bed and tiptoed over to the door, pressing my ear against it.
I know it sounds strange, but I couldn't help it. I've been on edge ever since that incident at the Smith mansion in Sta. Barbara. I'm constantly on edge.
