"You shouldn't think too kindly. The world is harsher for the kind ones," he whispered before leaning back in his chair and returning to what he was doing.
Sienna stared at Lemiel for a few seconds before blinking and lowering her gaze to the book. She wanted to say that she wasn't too kind. She only wanted to treat everyone fairly. But she didn't say anything and continued writing down the book's translation.
A few minutes after the clock struck twelve, Sienna returned the quill to its place. She had finished an entire page before leaving Lemiel's room.
As she closed the door behind her, her thoughts revolved around the illusion spells and what could be the way to break them. She had tried to recall every book she had read in the past during her free time earlier that day, but she couldn't remember anything relevant.
Just a few steps away from Lemiel's door, Sienna stopped, snapping out of her thoughts when she realized who was walking in the hallway.
