Meka hid behind Dede, her eyes blazing with confusion as she watched the smoke around Jelani, his eyes turning darker and more sinister, sending shivers crawling over her skin. How was it that he had been on the demon's side all this while?

Beside her, Dede squeezed her hand, knowing the conflicting emotions running through her mind; this man was once her husband.

"What do we do?" Amara whispered to Safiya.

"We stick together," Safiya said, her gaze unwavering from Jelani. "We will not let him win."

Salam's eyes were just fixed on Jelani; he could barely speak. How could the man he once knew be the evil one destined to die? He shook his head, refusing to feel pity for him; Jelani did not deserve it.

"Bow before me," Jelani croaked his head, then his eyes shifted to Malik. "I see that your mind is too strong to let evil reside."
