Safiya stirred awake when she heard the first raindrop, but instead of getting up, she watched through the open cave as it fell. Malik had his arm wrapped around her, his breath gently brushing against her neck.

He was sleeping so soundly, like a newborn baby, and she would do whatever it takes to keep him peaceful. Safiya heard a small sound behind her and turned her head, only to see Malik staring at her.

"You are awake," she whispered.

Malik nodded but continued to watch her. Then his gaze traveled to the rain falling outside. "The rain doesn't want us to continue our journey," he said. He then looked back at her, with sleepy eyes. "It could have been a good thing."
