Capítulo 26: The Crazy History Teacher

"That's arrogant," Ivy spoke irritably.

"Whether you like it or not, he can have that arrogance!" replied Alice.

"Whether you're a fan or not, he's destined to inherit the ancient capital. Making an enemy out of him could be a grave mistake!" Lucca said at the same time as Alice

And the class continued with the presentations until it came to the group. The group introduced themselves, and then it was Lucca's turn.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Lucca Mason, and I want to develop in magic!"

"A Mason as a mage? Bloodhair must be crazy right now!" commented Arthur Clark.

"You're Bloodhair's son??" asked Alice, shocked.

"Bloodhair? That old pervert has a pretty good nickname haha!"

"Old pervert?" asked Arthur, confused.

"Come on, class! Let's focus on the lesson!" shouted the professor so that the class could get back to the lesson.

The professor began to talk about what they would do in this first year, what subjects they would learn, and the places they would visit throughout the year.

But in the middle of all this explanation, Lucca's group didn't pay much attention. They were more interested in knowing more about Lucca.

"I still can't believe you're Bloodhair's son! And you're a mage. How did your father react to that?" asked Ana.

"He made me train in aura."

"Just that? You come from a lineage that is highly respected for being excellent in aura, and you become a mage? You're a disappointment!" Ivy said, clearly upset with Lucca's decision.

Lucca ignored Ivy's insults and said, "My father expected this already. After all, my mother is a dark mage."

"I never knew that Bloodhair had married a mage!" said Alice.

"Because she's a peasant, so I doubt it was widely announced!" said Lucca.

"So, that means you're a bastard!" said Ana.

"You could say that!" replied Lucca.

"But wait, my father is bald. How does he have a nickname related to hair?" asked, not understanding.

"Maybe at the time he received that nickname, he had hair? Just a maybe," replied Ana in a dry tone.

The questions continued for some time until Lucca heard something that interested him, and he returned his attention to the class.

"At the beginning of the class, a student asked me why I have the nickname 'the crazy professor.' Well, to answer that question, I'll ask you some questions."

"The first one: who knows that we were once led by dragons?" Everyone in the class raised their hand, and the professor continued, "Would anyone volunteer to tell me why we became independent?"

One of the students raised their hand, and the professor gave him the floor. He answered, "Because dragons are arrogant, so the emperor put an end to that tyranny by declaring independence!" with a tone of pride.

"Wrong!" replied Arthur and continued, "The dragons were asking for too much money, reaching crazy amounts, and with no other option, the leaders of each race joined together and declared independence! Leading us to where we are today."

"Does anyone have another version of this story?" No one raised their hand, and the professor said, "Funny, the most popular version didn't appear in this class. What an interesting phenomenon, I'll note that down!" He began jotting down on a sheet of paper.

"And what's the most popular version, professor?" asked a student.

"Personal greed of the leaders of each race," he replied without looking at the student, as he was writing on his sheet.

"Well, you've seen how there are three versions for just one event! But wait, there's more! Who heard that we once had good relations with other races, for example, that dwarves and elves lived and roamed freely in the human capital?"

Arthur, Alice, Lucca, Ana, and a few more students raised their hands.

"Out of 40 students, only 7 raised their hands" said the professor.

"Next, does anyone know of any stories from the time when we were subordinate to the dragons? Besides, of course, the one about independence!"

Silence in the room, after some time the professor continued, "Is there any book from that time?"

And again, the room fell silent, and he said, "And now, how many tales have been written and passed down through generations since we gained independence?"

"Thousands!" answered a student.

'So, his theory is that someone destroyed or erased the history! What an interesting theory.'

"Well, I think that's all for today. If you don't believe me, go to the academy library and look for some book that tells some of the stories I've told you or those your colleagues have told you. Until the next class!" said the professor.

"Until the next class!" responded the students.

"I told you he was crazy!" said Ana.

"But it makes some sense," replied Lucca.

"What's the point of making sense without evidence!" said Alice.

"You're right! What's the next class again?" asked Lucca.

"Hunting," answered Ivy excitedly.

"Hunting??" asked Lucca confused.

"It's about the Fields and mobs, things like that!" replied Ana.

"Ah, I see."

After some time, a woman enters the room. The woman had short black hair, eyes of a deep green, like an emerald, and on her face, you could clearly see a scar that seemed to be a cut from near the mouth to the ear and she was 1.77 meters (5'9") high.

"Good morning, class!" said the teacher as she reached the podium.

"Good morning, teacher!" replied the students.

"I am Elara Lunar, and I will be your hunting teacher. In these classes, we will talk about the Fields, how to behave inside them, how to locate your prey, what are the behaviors and skills of the animals and creatures of the academy's dungeon, and much more!"
