Capítulo 36: Sudden Enlightenment

The following match almost turned into a two-person dance between Kevin and Cirilla. They took turns attacking, either using their exceptional individual skills and impact to break through directly or using their extraordinary understanding and clever techniques to coordinate with each other, leaving the Hufflepuff chasers at a loss.

In the past, Hufflepuff could still use multiple defenders to block Cirilla, while the rest of the team would engage the Ravenclaw players in close combat to create an opportunity. This was the common tactic other teams used to deal with Ravenclaw after Cirilla joined. But now, even this tactic wasn't effective because Kevin posed a threat equal to Cirilla.

Whenever they focused their defence on one of them, the other took advantage of Hufflepuff's vulnerable defence to score. If they didn't employ man-marking, these two could simultaneously launch their attacks, making their exceptional coordination even more effective. Ravenclaw's offence kept Hufflepuff on their toes, with no clear idea of how to defend against it.

As Jordan summarised it, "Kevin's addition has given Ravenclaw two Cirillas. No, in the eyes of Hufflepuff, Kevin is like a pro-plus-ultra-max version of Cirilla. He possesses Cirilla's speed, skill, and impact, but he also has unparalleled intuition and perception. The bludgers can't harm him at all. No matter from which direction the bludgers come, whether it's a frontal attack or a sneak attack, they can't harm him in the slightest. He doesn't need to be particularly aware of his surroundings to dodge the bludgers with minimal movements. When have the Hufflepuff chasers ever encountered such an opponent? He's faster, more skilled, and impossible to tackle. They can't even hit him; it's like trying to take on a porcupine. 'Hufflepuff's keeper may be able to stop one shot or two shots, but they can't stop Ravenclaw from constantly shooting!' Jordan exclaimed, 'Ravenclaw has two powerful breakers, and Hufflepuff has no way to deal with this. The game has only been going on for ten minutes, and Ravenclaw has scored 90 points—almost a goal every minute.'

Now, Hufflepuff could only rely on their seeker, Cedric Diggory. If he could catch the Golden Snitch within ten minutes, victory would belong to Hufflepuff. Why within ten minutes? Because in no more than ten minutes, the score difference between the two teams would be over 150 points, and even if the Golden Snitch flew into Cedric's hand by itself, it wouldn't save Hufflepuff.

'Haven't they found the Golden Snitch yet?' Jordan turned back to continue observing the progress of the game, scanning the field with his eyes, wishing he could transform into a seeker himself. But even the seekers on the field had no luck; how could he?

When the score reached 120:20, the situation changed. Kevin, who had been cooperating with Cirilla in the offence, suddenly stopped flying and turned to head towards the seeker, Zhang Qiu, leaving Cirilla alone to face the Hufflepuff chasers. However, the Ravenclaw players didn't find this strange at all.

In the eyes of the puzzled audience, the two young wizards of Chinese descent whispered in the air. Then, Kevin pointed to the Hufflepuff stands, and Cho Chang immediately activated his flying broom, taking the lead in diving towards them, with Kevin following closely behind. Nearby, Cedric only hesitated for a moment before realising what was happening and chasing after them. Although he couldn't immediately confirm the location of the Golden Snitch, upon approaching, the truth became clear. He followed the opponent's direction and discovered the small golden ball, about the size of a walnut, flapping its wings like a wasp.

Jordan's commentary revealed the truth to the audience: 'It's incredible that in this game, the first to find the Golden Snitch isn't the seekers from both sides but Kevin Green, who has been contributing incredibly to Ravenclaw's pursuit. Kevin Green, after scoring consecutively, also took on the part-time job of finding the Golden Snitch and was the first to find it! He is now focusing on the chase. With his words filled with excitement, "Now the situation is clear. Ravenclaw has changed its tactics. The youngest seeker is now acting as the second seeker, assisting the primary seeker, Cho Chang, in catching the Golden Snitch. The Ravenclaw chasers and beaters have transitioned to a defensive stance, adopting a stalling strategy. They have a lead in points, so they are not afraid of losing goals. If they can stall until Ravenclaw captures the Golden Snitch first, they will win!"

As Hufflepuff's seeker, Cedric Diggory had been watching the young man in front of him crush his teammates, and the opponent was so strong that he had to take on the responsibility of turning the game around for his team. Now, he has finally experienced the tenacity of this young man. Seeing that Ravenclaw had found the Golden Snitch before him, Diggory, disregarding the danger, tried to speed up and overtake Cho Chang. But Levin was like an escort fighter around a bomber; whenever Diggory attempted to get close, Kevin would actively intercept him, as if he would stop him at all costs.

Diggory tried various overtaking methods, such as sudden acceleration, abrupt turns, and even forced collisions. However, no matter how he tried, the young seeker accurately blocked his path, making it impossible for him to advance. He initially thought that he could forcefully break through with his physical advantage, but he was wrong. The opponent was much stronger than he appeared. When the two collided, Diggory felt like he was not running into a wizard but a giant. Eventually, Diggory couldn't bear it anymore. Seeing that Cho Chang was just a few centimetres away from catching the Golden Snitch, he immediately threw caution to the wind and attempted a breakthrough. Of course, Kevin wouldn't allow that.

The two were struggling, and Cho Chang suddenly decelerated. The three of them rolled into the Hufflepuff banner. Seeing the danger, Diego reluctantly turned his broom to escape. Originally, with Kevin's skill, there was a chance to break free. However, Cho Chang's strength was insufficient, and she couldn't hold onto the broom with one hand, causing it to slip from her grasp within the folds of the banner.

Kevin, seeing the situation, had no choice. He pounced forward, simultaneously casting [Frost Armour] to use as a cushion. In this critical moment, he suddenly realised his super magical skill, [Instant Spell].

"Instant Frost Armour!" Kevin exclaimed. The invisible ice armour gathered around him, protecting both him and Cho Chang, while his mental power explosively slowed down their descent. In the eyes of the audience, the two were engulfed in the banner, falling directly from a height of about ten metres. The spectators let out a collective gasp.

Professor Flitwick quickly drew his wand and cast a cushioning charm, reducing the impact of their fall along with Kevin's mental power. The two, along with the banner, fell to the ground and rolled for a few laps. Madam Hooch stopped the match, and Ravenclaw's team members quickly descended to help them escape from the tightly wrapped banner. Even Diego came over, showing self-blame.

As they broke free from the banner's bindings and stood up with the support of their teammates, the whole scene seemed as if someone had pressed the pause button and then immediately restarted. Deafening cheers filled the stadium.

Cho Chang stood up from Kevin's embrace and lifted her hand, holding the Golden Snitch she accidentally let go of. However, this adventure was worth it. Ravenclaw won by a large margin: 270-20.

It's essential to know that in Hogwarts Quidditch, it's not about the number of wins but the total score from all the matches. Such a significant score difference instantly put Ravenclaw far ahead of the other teams.

The field had turned into a sea of joy. Ravenclaw's players were thrilled. Roger was jubilantly hugging Kevin, not caring that he had only played a supporting role throughout the game. Cho Chang the Golden Snitch and held Kevin's wrist tightly. "Everyone" embraced and grabbed Kevin, who could only offer an embarrassed smile.

Cirilla, though happy about the victory, felt a bit uncomfortable at the scene, especially the sight of Cho Chang holding Kevin's wrist. She couldn't help but roll her eyes.

In any case, amid laughter and tears, the first round of the Ravenclaw Quidditch match came to a close.
