[The Married Woman Complete!]
[Quiet Steps (F) upgraded to Quiet Steps (C)]
[Description: With the Quiet Steps Skill, the user becomes the phantom of silence, a shadow in the night. Every footfall is muted, allowing the user to move through darkness and danger undetected. Agility is doubled while unseen.]
John's jaw dropped. The reward this time was incredible. Doubling his agility would certainly be useful. His fighting style as a rogue hinged on his agility, but it was his lowest stat until now.
"Wow," he muttered.
"What's wrong?" Julia asked, walking up to him.
"Nothing. Just an unexpected surprise."
Julia nodded and went back to wake up Dalia. John had promised to train both of them. This apocalyptic world required Strength and they were lacking, but first, he would take a look at his status screen.
[John Sarack]
[Age: 21]
[Strength: 22.9]
[Vitality: 16.1]
[Agility: 10]
[Energy: 12]
[Skills: Quiet Steps (C), Critical Hit (F), Shockwave (E), Love Meter, Appraisal (B), Shadow Claw (D)]
[Skill Borrowing: Muscle Strengthening (E), Strength Buff (E)]
John smirked, he could now use both Julia's and Stephanie's skills thanks to his Skill Borrowing, plus he had upgraded his Quiet Steps, but for now, Julia and Dalia needed their help.
John stood in front of Julia and Dalia. "We have to level up your skills. You two have good potential, but you need to focus and train."
"What can we do?" Julia asked.
"We need to work on your strength and agility. Your Strength and Vitality are pretty low. Let's start by focusing on the basics. Follow me," John said as he led the group outside the mall.
They stopped at a park just a block from the mall.
John grabbed a stick and threw it at Dalia. "Hit it."
Dalia cast her fireball, but it was slow and didn't hit the stick.
"You're too slow. Focus, concentrate on your target."
Dalia nodded and tried again, this time, the stick exploded into flames, leaving nothing behind.
"That's better. Keep practicing."
"Can I have a try?" Julia asked.
"No, your training will be different."
"Why?"
"Because you're a buffer and you need to focus on learning how to use your buffs."
"Okay."
John pointed at a tree. "I want you to hit it."
"With what?"
"Your fists. Use your buff."
Julia looked at him in disbelief. "Are you serious?"
"Yes, you need to be decisive and not hesitate. Trust your instincts."
Julia took a deep breath and ran towards the tree. She put all her weight into her fist and hit the log, knocking it back.
They trained like that for an hour, but then John spoke up, "great. Now we'll train with monsters."
"What? Are you crazy?" Dalia said.
"You need to level up your skills and that means killing monsters."
"How?"
"We'll hunt some goblins. They're weak and perfect for training."
They followed John to the intersection through the eerily silent streets. They heard a hushed sound there and the occasional clanking, but they were as silent as ever. He used his Quiet Steps skill and they crept up on a group of goblins.
"Alright, now use your buff on yourself," John said to Julia.
Julia cast her buff and felt a surge of power flow through her. She was stronger than before.
"Good, now attack them."
Julia charged at the goblins and punched one of them in the face. The goblin was knocked back and fell to the ground. She then kicked another goblin and sent him flying. Then, Dalia blasted a fireball, sending the remaining goblins running.
"Great job, you two are improving fast."
After a few hours of hunting, John decided it was time to begin creating that blockade. Thankfully, there was already half a barricade in place thanks to crumbled buildings and abandoned cars.
John took out metal beams and bricks from out of his inventory and they managed to block one side of the intersection, but since his inventory allowed only up to 50 kg, they had to go back and forth a few times. The streets now felt a little safer, but they couldn't let their guard down. Who knows when a monster would strike.
"Let's rest," John said, as they made their way back to the mall.
As they walked, John noticed Julia was quiet and distant.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm scared," she replied. "I don't know what's going to happen next. We can't stay here forever."
"I know, but we'll find somewhere else soon. I promise."
"But how long will it take? And what if Martin comes back for me?"
"You have me, now, don't you?" John said, smile on his lips. "Don't worry, I'll protect you."
Julia smiled and Dalia observed quietly. She still had no idea why Martin had left and sensed something was different with John and Julia.
While Julia stepped out of the sporting goods store, Dalia sauntered next to John.
"John, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Do you..." she hesitated, her gaze locked to the marble floors, "...hate me for disappearing on you?"
John raised an eyebrow, "No."
"Really?"
"I was mad when you left, but I don't hate you."
Dalia sighed in relief, "I thought you hated me."
"Nah, it's all good. It's this world we're stuck in."
"Yeah," she paused, her thoughts drifting to Martin, "John, what happened with Martin?"
John shrugged, "Nothing."
"It's not nothing. You guys are acting weird."
John glanced at Julia, who was looking at the clothing store.
"It's a long story. We'll tell you when we're ready."
"Alright."
"For now, we have to focus on finding a new place."
"I'm sure you have a plan."
John smirked, "Of course, I always have a plan."
He thought back to his portable base. He needed to settle down somewhere. Hopefully away from Theodore, but he needed strength and he needed more people. He knew there were other factions out there, potentially as large as Theodore's people. It would be suicide to set out on his own.
For now, all he needed was to grow stronger, and that meant stealing some poor sap out of his girl.
Dalia couldn't help but laugh as she followed John and Julia throughout the mall. They were like two high school kids trying to hide from the teachers. But Dalia couldn't help herself. She just had to know what was going on.
She saw them heading into a clothing store and decided to sneak in after them. As she made her way inside, she noticed a rack of designer clothes and couldn't resist the urge to try them on.
Dalia's voluptuous figure was made for designer clothes. Her large breasts were perfectly shaped, and her round buttocks were firm and supple. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but smile.
Her fair skin was a stark contrast against the black dress, and her eyes glimmered in the light. She knew that if she put her mind to it, she could be a model.
As she admired herself, she noticed Julia and John sneaking out of the store, giggling like schoolchildren.
'Damn, I'm gonna get to the bottom of this!'
Dalia quickly took off the dress and grabbed her knife. She made her way through the mall, determined to find out what was going on.
She ducked into a shoe store and found a pair of red stilettos that matched her dress.
"Oh, these are perfect!"
Dalia couldn't resist. She slipped the shoes on and walked around, her feet sinking into the plush carpet. She admired her reflection and sighed.
'God, I look so good!'
Dalia was lost in her own world when she heard a noise. She turned and saw Julia and John sneaking out of a store, holding hands and kissing.
"What the hell?" Dalia mumbled.
She followed them to a bookstore and snuck inside. She crouched behind a shelf and watched as John and Julia looked at books and giggled like a couple of schoolchildren.
Dalia felt her heart sink. She couldn't understand why she felt like this, like a part of her was stolen. She continued following the pair until Julia decided to go freshen up and it was just John.
John's countenance had changed. When John was with Julia, Dalia was briefly reminded of what John was like during their childhood days. John wore a smile all the time, but now? He was as stoic as they get, except with Julia, it seems. John had reassured Dalia that she didn't hate her, but perhaps it was worse than that, perhaps John was indifferent to her, Dalia thought.
Dalia rubbed her nose in frustration. She wanted to be angry, but she knew she brought this on herself. She had abandoned John for petty reasons, she had no right to complain.
She couldn't tear her eyes away from John as he stripped down to his core, revealing a body that left Dalia's heart racing. The store was filled with the sound of fabric rustling as he slowly peeled off his shirt, exposing every inch of his torso.
Muscles bulged and danced under his skin, each one proof of his discipline and dedication. Dalia's cheeks burned brighter than a furnace, but she couldn't help herself - her eyes darted around the room, drinking in the sight of John's physique.
A wave of heat washed over her, a feeling that threatened to engulf her whole being. But Dalia was torn - she had a boyfriend, yet the sight of John's body was enough to make her breath catch. "My god," she thought, "he looks so hot." The air around her was charged with a mixture of desire and guilt, as she struggled to rein in her thoughts.
Dalia didn't know what to think anymore. She was overwhelmed by the feelings coursing through her.
She watched him walk out of the store, his luscious black hair swaying gently. Dalia couldn't tear her eyes away, his rippling muscles glistening under the flickering lights.
She knew she couldn't resist him forever.
She had never felt like this before. Her heart was beating a mile a minute, and her body felt like it was on fire. She couldn't stop thinking about John.
She tried to focus on other things, but every time she closed her eyes, his face appeared in her mind.
She needed him.
She wanted him.
She couldn't deny it anymore.
But she couldn't bring herself to say it out loud.
She was trapped in a battle between her desires and guilt. She had resigned herself, she couldn't have John and even if she could, what about Julian? She couldn't have him, but, she could in her fantasies...
As Dalia lay in her makeshift bed, her hand between her legs, she couldn't stop thinking about John. His face, his body, his eyes. Everything about him made her ache with desire. She knew she couldn't have him, but the thought of him filled her with longing.
She closed her eyes and imagined him, his hands touching her body, his mouth pressed against hers. She moaned softly as her fingers slipped between her wet folds. She couldn't believe how good it felt, how much she wanted him.
Dalia's heart raced as she indulged in her forbidden desires. John's image had become a permanent fixture in her mind, fueling her arousal. She couldn't resist the temptation to pleasure herself, her fingers dancing over her clitoris as she imagined him claiming her body as his own. The scene played out in her mind, John's strong arms holding her down as he thrust his thick, hard cock deep inside her.
As Dalia's climax drew closer, her body betrayed her desires. Her breasts, full and ripe, lifted with each breath she took, while her hips swayed in a gentle rhythm. The ache in her pelvis grew more intense with each passing moment, as if her body were begging for John's touch. Her clitoris, nestled between her labia, seemed to pulse with a life of its own, eagerly awaiting the arrival of John's fingers. With a moan that escaped her lips, Dalia's fingers danced over her skin, discovering new territories of pleasure as her body pulsed with each throb of her orgasm.
But even as she came down from her orgasm, she knew that this was only temporary. She couldn't have John, and she would have to learn to live with that.
"AH—JOHN!"
As she shouted his name, John appeared before her and she froze. The air around them seemed to crackle with tension, and Dalia could feel the heat rising in her cheeks.
"Uh, um, I can explain—"
John laughed and shook his head. "It's fine, don't worry about it. I get it."
"You do?"
"Of course. It's natural. I can't blame you."
"I just...I didn't want you to think—"
"Dalia, it's okay. Really."
"Okay. So, you're not mad?"
"Nope. Why would I be mad? You have desires, and it's normal. We're both adults. We can deal with it."
"Well, um, I guess that's good."
John grinned as he made his way towards the exit, leaving Dalia feeling somewhat disappointed. It was a shame he couldn't take advantage of the situation, but he needed Dalia to willingly sever ties with Julian to complete the system's quest. Who knows what would happen if he pushed her, now. But he knew she would soon be squirming under his touch.
