In a dimly lit underground basement, a young man could be seen wearing an all-black attire, blending perfectly into the shadows, a mysterious figure in the darkness. His slender physique, adorned with a jet-black shirt and dark trousers, exuded an air of mystery.
"Alpha," the man said with a tone of respect.
"What do you have for me, demon?" Robert asked.
"I have news about someone trying to find out information about the incident," the man replied.
Despite his young face which looked 25, he was over 50 years old but still managed to look youthful, thanks to his unusual gift. He was known as the Young Demon for his ruthless reputation.
"What?" Robert asked, his eyes widening. "Kill them. I want no information leaked," he ordered.
"It's your son, Alpha," the Young Demon disclosed.
"What? Which one of them?" Robert finally managed to respond with a calm tone.
"Leon," the Young Demon said, delivering the shocking revelation.
"What should I do about it, Alpha?" the Young Demon inquired.
"What have you done about it?" Robert asked.
"I've blocked him from knowing what he shouldn't," the Young Demon reassured.
"Good. I want no information about the incident leaked. I promise to keep it a secret, and no one must know about it," Robert said, ending the call.
With the phone call concluded Robert leaned back in his darkened basement, deep in thought. The revelation about his own son's involvement had shaken him to his core. He wondered if there was a way to protect Leon while still safeguarding the secrets of the incident. It was a delicate balance he needed to maintain.
Meanwhile, back at the restaurant, Kayla and Emily chatted happily until Kayla's mood suddenly shifted. Emily noticed her friend's change in expression and became concerned. "What happened, Kayla?" Emily asked.
Kayla hesitated for a moment, then decided to share something important. "Actually, there's something else I want to show you," she said, taking out another file and handing it to Emily.
As Emily read its contents, a frown settled on her face. "It's your dad's will. It says you have full ownership of his business and house," Emily said, reading out loud.
"This is great news, Kayla. You can take over the house and your dad's properties with this. You don't have to put up with your stepmother and stepsister's behavior," Emily remarked, trying to lift Kayla's spirits.
But Kayla's response wasn't as jubilant as expected. "It's not that I don't want it, it's just that it won't change a thing. It won't give me the happiness I want," Kayla explained, her expression clouded by deeper concerns.
"I understand, Kayla. This will only bring you more responsibilities, and reviving a business that's been struggling for years won't be easy," Emily acknowledged, empathizing with her friend's worries.
Kayla's gaze was downcast as she tried to sort out her thoughts. "What do you want to do now?" Emily asked, genuinely concerned.
"I don't know," Kayla admitted, a sense of uncertainty weighing on her.
She couldn't help but think of her late father and the burden he had left her. She remembered the late nights he spent working tirelessly to keep the business running. Her father's legacy, now in her hands, felt like an enormous weight, and she couldn't shake the feeling.
Emily sensed her friend's unease and reached out to comfort her. "Kayla, I know this isn't what you expected, but it's also an opportunity to make your father's dream come true. You can turn this place into something incredible."
Kayla nodded slowly, her thoughts churning.
Emily attempted to change the mood, redirecting the conversation. "Forget about this for now. Let's talk more about your man. What plans do you have to make him fall for you?" Emily inquired.
Kayla's face brightened, momentarily pushing aside her concerns. "Yesterday was our first day, and I fed him some noodles I made. Do you have any ideas for me?" she asked eagerly.
Emily offered some advice. "You have to take it slow and steady. I suggest going on fun dates, like stargazing. It will help you both bond, and from there, you can make him fall for you without him even realizing it."
"Thanks, Emily. You really are the best. I'll put your idea into action," Kayla said, feeling more optimistic.
"Of course, no one is better than me when it comes to dealing with men," Emily said with pride.
"I will get going now," Kayla said with a smile.
"I will drive you there," Emily said.
"You don't need to stress yourself, I will just call a cab," Kayla said.
"Oh Kayla, are you scared I will steal your man?" Emily said with a cunning smile and a wink.
Kayla laughed, her worries momentarily forgotten. "Steal my man? Never! I trust you completely, Emily. Besides, you're my best friend, and I know you have my back.
Emily, Kayla's loyal friend, was determined to help Kayla succeed in her pursuit of happiness. She shared dating tips and advice on building a strong connection with the man who had captured Kayla's heart.
"I invited you to a restaurant and I am going to satisfy you with delicacy. Order it on me" Emily said with a smile.
"Waitress" Emily called and the waitress the same waitress as before came with a professional smile.
"Are you ready to place your order?" the waitress asked maintaining her smile.
"Yes, give us dishes on the A list," Emily said as she scanned the dishes on the menu.
"Emily isn't it too much? We won't be able to finish it. Why don't we invite Jackson and James?" Kayla suggested.
"No, it's for me and you Emily said with a firm gaze.
"Get the dishes ready" Emily said to the waitress who quickly left to get their order.
Soin, their table is filled with enticing dishes. It is mainly seafood with a king crab in the middle and other appetizers.
"Bon appetit," Emily said mimicking the French word as they both started eating wholeheartedly.
