I made a U–turn at an intersection, trying to catch up with Karen for a clearer look, but she was nowhere to be found.
I felt a tinge of disappointment, but quickly shrugged it off–after all, I had no intention to get tangled up with them again, so there was no reason to be disappointed.
I composed myself and drove off.
Life after returning home was pretty chill. I either visited Joshua in the hospital or hung out with Flora and Bryan at Luna's place.
Joshua was recovering well and was discharged about a week later.
On the day he was discharged, I went to pick him up, planning to introduce him to someone over a meal.
"Eliana, where are you taking me?" Joshua asked curiously from the passenger seat.
"Have you heard of Albert Homes?" I asked.
"I know it. That's a good real estate company. I applied there once but didn't get the job," Joshua said, looking slightly surprised. "You're taking me there?"
