Capítulo 27: Curing

As Lawrence continued to probe the body of Agatha's mother, the sensation was like chasing shadows in a maze.

Just when he thought he was on the verge of a breakthrough, the parasite slipped away again, leaving only the faintest trace of its existence.

With a frustrated exhale, Lawrence withdrew his hand, his mana retracting back into him. He took a moment to collect himself, knowing that the situation required patience and a strategic approach.

Though the next moment, Lawrence began cursing. "This motherfucking parasite really doesn't know what's good for him."

Lifting his sleeve up, Lawrence was ready for the final round to demolish this damn parasite who thought itself was some smart and slick being.

Unwilling to become a fool again, Lawrence delved deeper into his mana reserves.

At first, he was being mild mainly because he didn't wish to cause more discomfort for Agatha's mother.

However, that could all be thrown out of the window, given that the mild approach was definitely not working.

Since the parasite loved to play hard to get, then Lawrence shall gladly accompany it with what it truly meant to be playing hard to get.

Laughing menacingly, Lawrence's facial expression was extremely frightening, causing some panic in Agatha's mother's expression.

She wanted to shake her head and move away from Lawrence, afraid of what he was going to do.

Alas, Lawrence was done being mild. He directly restrained Agatha's mother forcefully regardless if she wanted to escape or not.

"Stay put, otherwise, I can't guarantee what kind of side-effects you will receive." Lawrence then said solemnly, his tone was clear and direct.

Enduring a few painful moments now was better than being harmed by a parasite that had been inside of her for who knows how long.

Lawrence wasn't omnipotent so how was he supposed to know how long the parasite was residing in her body. Though he could only make some faint guesses based on the condition of her body and facial complexion.

With a deep breath and closing his eyes before reopening them to look and act cool, Lawrence was ready for the final round to exterminate this fucking parasite.

He crafted a more intricate weave of energy, channeling it meticulously to encircle Agatha's mother. Agatha's mother's eyes were wide open, seemingly wanting to struggle from the weave of energy. It was just a shame that she was restricted completely, and Lawrence gave zero fuck about her complaint.

You want to be cured?

Then shut the hell up even though you can't talk from the start anyway!

But most importantly, stop moving around and making his job difficult. Can't these patients ever cooperate with the one curing them?

Lawrence swore to god that most patients love to complain and blame the doctor or healer or whatever you wanted to call them whenever they feel slight pain, almost as if it was their fault.

Ignoring the plight of Agatha's mother, Lawrence's mana formed a complex lattice, designed to both confine any sudden movements and coerce the parasite into revealing itself.

The room was laden with a charged silence, broken only by the crackling energy swirling around Lawrence's hand. Beads of sweat formed on his brow as he maintained his focus, his gaze unwavering.

"Yeah, keep running you little shit parasite. Too bad you can't hide forever." Lawrence muttered, taunting at the pathetic effort of the parasite.

Maybe if it was done by someone else, then the parasite might still have a glimmer of hope of escaping. But too bad for this annoying parasite that it was him that the parasite was dealing with.

Lawrence's facial expression was getting scarier by the seconds as he laughed maniacally. He could feel the parasite panicking and trying all sorts of methods to escape from his grasp, but it was just a futile effort in the end.

Against his expertise and perfect control of mana, Lawrence was like a god, hovering over the parasite's life-and-death situation.

"Hahaha, run? Let's see you fucking run now!" Lawrence snorted coldly when he finally caught the parasite in his complex lattice formed with mana.

And knowing its demise was coming fast, the parasite was just as Lawrence had predicted.

The parasite attempted to self-destruct itself, but too bad.

Sorry, not so sorry!

Lawrence cackled in evil as he clutched the parasite even tighter with his mana, forcefully preventing it from even attempting a self-destruct.

"Did I give you permission to self-destruct you little shit?" Lawrence asked coldly.

"You play with fire, and now you're going to get burned for messing with it!" He added, increasing the intensity of his mana to ensure there was zero possibility of escaping.

As if he would be careless like most trash protagonists who let their enemy escape because of a moment of carelessness.

Those protagonists should just bang their heads to the wall and end their lives for being so foolish as to let an enemy escape.

A few seconds later, Lawrence stripped the parasite out of Agatha's mother's body.

However, the repercussions caused Agatha's mother to cough repeatedly, even throwing up some blood at the same time.

And if that wasn't enough, Lawrence's timing couldn't be any worse when Agatha finally regained some of her consciousness and just so happened to see Lawrence causing her beloved mother to cough up blood.

"You've got to be kidding me, right?" Lawrence had his mana surrounded the house, so how could he not realize Agatha had seen the whole thing.

Seriously?

Of all the time you can regain consciousness, you decide to regain it right when I'm done and she is coughing up blood, and not when I'm actively trying to cure her?

Lawrence wanted to complain those aloud from his mind, but he knew better than to attempt to explain.

The saying goes; if you're guilty, then you would not want to explain yourself because it would only make you more guilty.

And who said those words you might have asked?

Don't know, and don't care. It was just a good metaphor or analogy.

Lawrence: So... someone complained about the pace being slow, and all I'm going to say is too bad so sad. Cry me a river if you can't handle the pace. This is my story-- the story of Lawrence Von Carrion, and not yours. You can support me, but if you just want to complain, the exit door is just two button away.
