"You must not have any miscarriage again.

If you do, you must part with Edric."

The instruction was loud and clear. Loreen had to part with Edric since she had another miscarriage despite their warning.

It was given by Aunt Selma on the premise that Loreen was not in love with Edric at first. 

Aunt Selma believed that Loreen must have had another lover which was why she had to get rid of her pregnancies since it wasn't Edric's.

But now that Loreen was in love with Edric, she may indeed be trying to get pregnant with his child.

Thus, they warned that if she ever had another miscarriage (they believed was intentional), they would ensure that Loreen was removed as Edric's wife in one way or another.

Loreen was already filled with grief, anxiety, fear, and paranoia, and yet, Aunt Selma's words haunted her like a dagger stabbing her repeatedly.
