" There we go. All nice and tight just for you fairies. That should send a clear message. Heheheheh."
A dark figure descends back into the night delivering a message that will be heard all around the town for quite some time. That message would be the first shot in what would be known as the first of many battles held in the town of Magnolia!

Magnolia Town
A clear and sunny day with a beautiful breeze.
Returning from a quest that had sent him out of town for quite some time, Satoru noticed that the people of Magnolia were looking at him with a look of sadness and pity. It was quite strange and unsettling.
" What in the world is going on with the people today? They're staring more than usual." Satoru noted.
A feeling of unease settled deep within his stomach, twisting and churning like a vortex. And it wouldn't be too much longer now until he finally understood why.
- Fairy Tail Guild
Satoru was completely stumped as he gazed upon the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. There were giant pillars of Iron jutting out of the walls of the guild hall, stabbing into them like knives.
Wasting no time, Satoru exploded into the guild hall's main hall. Seeing the damage inside, he felt like someone had stabbed him in the gut with a dagger of poison and acid.
He bit down on the palm of his hand just to keep himself from screaming out in frustration and anger.
Though the hall was empty, Satoru could hear the sound of bustling and shouting down below him.
Following the noise led him directly to the underground storage area of the guild, where it appeared as though the members of the guild had setup shop for time being.
Stepping into the forum, Satoru searched for Master Makarov amongst the crowd.
" Master, hey master!" Satoru shouted.
Hearing the young man calling out to him, Makarov looked up from the drink in his hand, to see that Satoru was coming right towards him.
" Oh, hey Shira my boy how was the job?" Makarov asked.
" Now's not the time, what happened to the guild?" Satoru asked the man.
" Oh nothing, just a few punks from phantom lord trying to intimidate us is all. Nothing much to worry about."
" Nothing much? Are you serious? Our entire guild hall is in ruins! Was anyone hurt?" Shira asked.
" No, not at all. Like I said they attacked in the night so it's all good. Like I told Natsu, there's no point in wasting our time fighting with a bunch of punks too scared to take on us directly." Makarov told the man.
" Master, you can't be serious?! This goes above just fighting with phantom. Do you understand what this means? What it'll look like? Now every guild who has a problem with us will all of a sudden find themselves with a reason to attack us. This is afront to our honor, our pride as a guild. If we let this slide, we'll be the laughingstock of the magic community. How long until phantom or some other guild decides to take it up a notch and attack our members?" Satoru exclaimed. " We can't just let this go!"
" Now, Shira, I've already made my decision. Nothing more needs to be said on the matter, take a seat and have a drink, and just relax a little!" Makariv exclaimed.
A slap to the face.
That's what Makarov's words felt like.
" Relax? You want me to relax?!" Satoru exclaimed.
If they weren't before, all eyes were on the two of them of now.
Sensing the tension in the air, Satoru stormed past Makarov and snatched a job off the board, nearly dragging the entire work board with him. He walked over to the makeshift bar, and slammed the sheet of paper down in front of Mirajane, who flinched a little from his force.
" I want this. Tell them I'm coming." He said to the woman.
" But Shira, you just came back." Mirajane muttered.
" Yeah, come on, man. Relax It isn't all that bad. " Macao spoke up and said to the man.
" Yeah, well, I need to hit something." Satoru exclaimed angrily. He grabbed the poster from the bar and started storming towards the exit but stopped just before climbing out. " Ya know, we might not agree on a lot of things, but one thing I do know, Laxus wouldn't have taken this lying down. No way." He said as he looked Makarov in his eyes.
Though drunk, Makarov could see notice the disappointment hidden deep within those eyes of anger.
" Hmmm. That boy." Makarov grumbled.
" Master, do you think it was a good idea to let him go like that?" Macao asked.
" Well, it's not like I can stop him. Besides, I trust him to not do something completely reckless. It's best to just leave him be for the time being. Let him work out his frustration on something productive. The rest of you just relax for a bit. And make sure that when you leave you all stay grouped together, just in case phantom does try something."
" Oh man, what a mess." Macao muttered.
" Yeah, no kiddin. This is a real mess. You think Shira's gonna go out looking for trouble?" Wakaba asked macao.
" No way, come on you guys. You know how Shira is. He might not agree with the master. But he respects him." Cana spoke up. She lifted her head up off the table, still feeling lightheaded from all her drinking. " Besides, it's not like we have anything to worry about. Those punks wouldn't dare attacking any of us with the master around."
...........
Later on, that night.
Things around the guild were finally settling down and many members were beginning to head home.
And last to leave were the tree man team of Jet, Droy and Levy otherwise known as the mighty team Shadow Gear.
" You sure this is, okay?" Droy asked Levy.
" Shouldn't you stay with Laki and the others at the girls' dorm?" Jet wondered.
" It's fine!" Levy proclaimed as the group walked through the town. " I don't want to split up the team."
Jet and Droy nearly fell over heads first as those words left Levy's mouth. They were both helplessly in love with the young blue haired woman.
" AAhhh!" They both groaned.
" The three of us can take on anything together!" Jet exclaimed.
" I'll always protect you." Droy told the woman.
" No, I will!" jet exclaimed.
None of them were aware of the danger they were in, until it was too late.
As the three of them walked a figure dressed in black descended upon them with the fury of a thunderstorm.
They didn't even see it until it was too late.
............
The next day
The next day the town awoke to the horror left behind by last night's attacker. Word quickly spread to the Fairy Tail guild and true to his words, Makarov came to regret being so humble before.
He along with Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Lucy walked to the site of the attack, the town's park, and there the horrific sight of their three guild mates.
Jet
Droy
And Levy
All of them had been horribly beaten and crucified to the largest tree in the park, with the phantom lord guild's logo plastered on their chests for all to see. They were strung up with sharp rods of iron piercing their flesh. It was truly a horrific display.
" Hgnnn! Phantom Lord did this!" Natsu grumbled. If you couldn't hear it in the tone of his voice, then the veins pulsating across his face were a clear give away that he was angry.
[ Fairy Law-ost]
" I can take our headquarters being reduced to rubble... But I will not let harm come to my children without taking REVENGE!" Makarov exclaimed. His walking stick had shattered from his grip on it and his magic power began radiating like an explosion of fire. " We Have No Choice But To Go To War!!!"
And so, it had begun.
With Natsu, Erza, Lucy, and Gray beside him, Makarov took Jet, Droy, and Levy having them treated within the guilds trusted medical center, Magnolia Hospital. Once they were taken care of Makarov grabbed the rest of his guild, save for Laxus, Mystogan, and Shira who was still away, and headed straight for Phantom Lords Guild.

- Oak Town
A home to many historical buildings. But towering above them all is a branch of the Phantom Lord Guild, which was buzzing with the news of Gajeel's attack on Fairy Tail.
" Oh man, Gajeel really got them good. We can't let him have all the fun now."
" Yeah, we need to try picking off a couple of fairy wings ourselves."
The Phantom lord members made jests of attacking Fairy Tail, however, just as those men were about to leave their guild hall the front door suddenly exploded open with a burst of fire.
" What the hell?!"
The smoke that filled the air suddenly cleared and standing there was almost the entirety of the Fairy Tail Guild!
" FAIRY TAIL HAS COME CALLING!" Makarov declared.
