Inside the carriage, Axilla noticed how Cortez now sat away from her, as if he had not just claimed her in front of everyone. She held the jacket tightly; the lingering sensation of Cortez's lips on her thigh still gave her a tickling feeling every time she remembered it, causing her lower stomach to knot as if little butterflies were trying to take flight inside.

Several minutes passed, and there was still silence in the carriage. Axilla tried to look at Cortez to see if he was sleeping or just wasn't in the mood to talk to her. When she raised her face, Cortez was staring right back at her.

"...!" Axilla gasped, throwing her face to the other side.
