Capítulo 9: Chapter 9 : A trip to the local hardware store

My hair is soaked and dripping down my back as I pull out of the driveway. I tried to dry it off when I was changing in the bathroom but I just felt so awkward with Logan in the next room waiting for me.

I drum my fingers on my steering wheel as I head into town. The local donation center is on the way to the hardware store so I stop there first. A woman comes out with a large bin for me to put my donations into. I start to unload my trunk when someone calls out to me.

“Hey, need some help with those?”

I turn around and spot Marcus jogging over to me. He has a grin on his face when he reaches me. Instead of helping though, he just leans against my car and watches me as I pull bags out. I shoot him a look and toss another bag into the bin.

“Why ask if you aren’t going to help?” I roll my eyes at him and push him off my car. Marcus chuckles and reaches around me to grab a couple of bags.
