Beth’s POV
I was surprised by Haven’s answer and returned to my food after Aaron called me.
Dinner passes uneventfully, everyone remaining in their seats and talking amongst themselves, but it ends too quickly for my liking.
It feels like the second I finish as much of the food as I can, people are clearing away plates and leaving the dining room. With a jolt, I realize every single one of them are headed for the backyard.
Aaron grabs my hand, pulling me from my thoughts, and I turn my head to look at him.
"Come on, Beth," he whispers, nodding with his head in the direction of the yard. He moves to stand, and before I know what I'm doing, I tug on his hand, catching him off guard and making him sit back down.
He frowns, concern flickering through his beautiful eyes that I love so much, and instantly making me feel a little guilty. I don't know how to voice my sudden panic, so I just shake my head 'no.'
