Capítulo 153: Ch. 153: The Grand Launch

I took a deep breath before continuing. Today was the day of the grand launch of my plan, and I couldn't mess this meeting up somehow. Right now, though, I was beginning to miss my Core Girls, who would always instantly understand what I wanted them to do, and then Chelsea would set things up so that it got done exactly as I wanted it. Now, it was my job to deal with those logistics.

Channeling my inner Chelsea, I began to explain what I'd gathered everyone here for. "Alright, as you guys know, I created this dojo with one goal. I want to train people to defend the Earth. Naturally, that doesn't mean that I'm trying to turn the average human into a Super Saiyan, though. I just want to make sure that, in the event of any large-scale disasters, like what happened on Namek before it exploded, us humans aren't completely defenseless. During times of peace, Legacy will focus on disaster relief and the like... things that cannot be handled by normal means."

Beside me, Pigero and Bulma were both nodding along with what I was saying. They understood the need for what I was talking about better than probably anyone else. Pigero'd been one of the few survivors of a terrible tsunami, one which he could likely prevent single-handedly, now, if he really went all-out. Maybe.

Meanwhile, Bulma was a normal human who'd grown up as my dad's friend. She'd been front row center for some of the most terrifying battles of all time, and seen the devastation that a single power could cause. Just as an example, Piccolo had destroyed an entire island during his battle with my dad before I was born, only slightly less devastation than his father had caused a few years prior.

"But in order to help people, we need to know when they need help. That's where these come in." I picked something up off of the floor and held it vertically for all to see. It was a metal stake taller than me, with a circular device at the top. Near the circular device was something that looked like a radio.

"These are, in essence, sensors. They pick up on all sorts of data and send it back to the mainframe that Bulma has lent us here, where that data is used to determine disasters such as fires, weather activity, and the like. In the area where one of these is planted, we should be able to pick up on any natural, large-scale, or fairly destructive hazards before the average person comes to harm from them." Naturally, it wasn't actually that simple. They could pick up on just about any natural disaster before it happened, that much was easy, but they couldn't tell the difference between, say, a house fire and a burnt dinner, until the home's structural integrity began to fail. Likewise, they couldn't pick up on deadly substances in the air like poison, and they couldn't identify bombs until they damaged their surroundings. Nor could they identify criminal activity in any way at all.

They were built with the capability to theoretically pick up on those things, though. The only problem was budget. Due to the low budget that Capsule Corp had given to the project, they hadn't bothered to create anything beyond a rudimentary AI program to sort the sensors' data. Currently, we were planning to only focus on natural disaster relief and prevention, for now. In the future, we would branch out, but Bulma had changed that to being part of the third phase of my plan, rather than the first, due to the fact that we wouldn't have the personnel for it once the Namekian warriors left. Only once the second phase of the plan had begun to pan out would they begin the R&D work on the AI for distinguishing between those sorts of things (Though Bulma promised to tinker with the software in the background whenever she had the time).

"Anyways, these things have a 100-kilometer diameter. Bulma and I have spent quite a bit of time figuring out the exact spots that we need to place them at, but the fact is that there are a lot of them. We need to cover every populated area on the planet with these things, after all." I explained. Honestly, Bulma and I had spent most of our two days of bickering simply deciding the exact spots where we wanted these sensors to be placed. We'd ended up spacing them about 50 kilometers apart, so that we'd still get coverage if one failed. As for cities with populations above a certain number, the plan was to surround them with a sensor in every direction, north, south, east, and west, for a total of four.

Naturally, the end result of that was that we needed multiple thousands of sensors. Honestly, it was an insane number, but the manufacturing costs were apparently only 'a bit' costly for Capsule Corp. The problem with that was the fact that we needed people to hammer those stakes into the ground. Capsule Corp was able to deal with most of them, sure, but I'd wanted to make sure that Legacy dealt with around a thousand of them ourselves. Naturally, that included the backup sensors in each city, as well as the ones that could feasibly be dangerous to place.

After sending out the message and gathering every single able-bodied warrior to the cause, I'd managed to gather twenty-five Namekian warriors, as well as Pigero, Piccolo, Gohan, Raditz, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin, and Raditz. Apparently, Rise had attempted to contact Nappa to enlist his help, but the burly Saiyan was 'not in the mood.' according to the Namekian. As far as I knew, he was traveling from city to city, trying to do good, but mostly scaring people with his face.

As an aside, there was an urban legend going around about the 'Gentle Thug,' a large, bald, mustachioed thuggish guy who would randomly appear when people did crime. Every criminal in his path was said to end up a nine-to-five, stand-up citizen (with intense PTSD).
