Both sides tried quite hard to take the lead before the halftime break with City starting to edge out Newcastle a bit but none of them were able to get that goal until the referee blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.
"That's forty-five minutes of football right there and it was quite the interesting one," Tony commented before taking a deep breath. "So far, I'll say this game has been pretty balanced with neither side totally dominating, although you could make an argument for Newcastle being the best team in this half."
"You got that right, and both teams will have to step things up in the second half if they want those three points," Mike remarked. "I think everything is pointing toward a pretty entertaining second with probably more goals which we will all love to see."
It was the halftime break, and just as expected, the players were all in the locker rooms.
