Chapter 02 – Welcome To The Dungeon [2/2]

Written By Dr Armstrong

->Drakka POV<-

There was one thing that Drakka had never ever seen in his entire orky life...

A purple Ork.

Why? Because purple was the colour of stealth.

Those who painted their bodies in the shade of purple were masters of stealth, which was why a purple Ork never came to prominence.

They did, but no one noticed because they were so good at hiding.

The Snotling wondered whether getting the Stealth skill would paint his body purple...probably not though because if it did, that would be way too overpowered.

If there was confirmation that the Stealth skill did indeed paint a Greenskin's body purple, there would be no doubt to choose it.

But as for the current moment, Drakka felt little to no inclination to acquire it.

'Hidin' iz fer Grotz, not me!' Was his thought.

Well, he was currently a Snot, so perhaps it was fine for him to do so—but that kind of thinking was the complete 180° of Orkoid Kultur...

It didn't matter if he was weak, time was but an illusion that would not halt his inevitable rise to power. The constraints of a weak, feeble, and crippled Snotling body were of no worry—physical augmentations existed, after all.

Basically, excuses are for losers! Stealth is hiding a dangerous weapon that is yourself from the opponent, whereas hiding from the opponent due to your weakness is cowardice!

That was Drakka's thoughts on the matter, he completely disregarded the Stealth skill in favour of the other, much more exciting skills...

Dash was very simple, but still highly useful nonetheless. It would especially be handy as a Snot, because in his logic, running away was not cowardly, but hiding was...

Well, it was a tactical retreat, not running away. The distinction was an important one.

Proliferation would be great in the long run, but he would honestly just get it later instead of now. What was the point of getting more Boyz if he still couldn't beat them to submission...

He didn't have much to say for throw, it was rather straightforward.

"Brawl...waz diz wot those Beakies had...?" Those Space Marines that the Humans had were always dangerous beasts on the battlefield. Their way of fighting was smoother than butter, it was as if they were just taking a light jog instead of a battle.

If it was indeed what those Astartes had then...

The last two options were Build and Dig. He saw many uses for the latter as he was indeed beneath ground, this was a subterranean forest, after all.

Though Build was rather useless for the current moment, he'd just get it at a later date...

So the final contestants were; Dash, Throw, Brawl, and Dig.

"Err...lez go wid Dash!" He didn't have much to throw beside the various rocks on the ground. Brawl was good, but again, great technique didn't mean much when you were this weak...

And Dig...well, it was a matter of simple preference.

[Do you wish to purchase the Skill - [Dash] for 1 Skill Point?]

"Hold yer tiddies, git. Me'z want to see da Mutations first..." The Snotling rejected, wanting to see the Mutations first in case of any hidden combos he could do.

"Lez see...hmm, deez are just me body partz...shame I can't mutate me jibbliez though." Not that an Ork would have many uses for it...

Since he chose Dash, mutating his legs would be a sweet combo—but then again, it would be a bit redundant...

Spore Gland followed the same logic as Proliferation, he'd just get it later.

Eyes, Ears, and Nose would all enhance various aspects of his senses. Very handy, especially if made use of in combination with his Hear skill.

Hide would strengthen his hide to resist more damage, whereas teeth would allow him to deal more damage, something that this weak body of his desperately needed.

However, he came to favour the last option...

[Do you wish to purchase the Skill - [Dash] and [Arms +1] for 1 Skill Point and 1 Biomass?]

"Yeh." He confirmed his choice with a goblinoid grin.

Immediately, a maddening itch sprouted in his hands and eventually enveloped his arms in the sensation.

Fortunately, the Snotling barely even registered this kind of sensation. He had experienced rapid growth when he became a Warboss in his first life and that was simply way more itchy than this meagre annoyance.

Drakka opened his hands as he glanced down at them, a subtle change overtook their forms, mutating them into a more refined, smooth shape.

It took a dozen seconds or so before the itching finally receded, the Snotling immediately putting his newly upgraded hands to good use.

~Grab~!

Drakka grabbed hold of the tree trunk before lifting his tiny body up with a climbing motion.

With his new, more dexterous hands, he could make good use of the woodland terrain here for climbing, pretty much eliminating most ground-level threats. While those Monsters who could climb or fly would be evaded with the use of Dash.

"Grr..." He huffed and gruffed as he tried his best at the art of climbing a giant tree, it was a bit difficult with only one leg, but with the combined force of his overwhelming willpower, the Snotling managed to do so in the end.

"Grah...!" He let out a grunt of pride as he hung down from a particularly tall branch of the tree with both hands in a 'dead hang' position.

"Aha!" The Snotling utilized all of the strength his tiny body had and managed to accomplish the 'muscle-up' manoeuvre.

He then dragged his body up and sat atop the branch, leaning against the tree trunk whilst clutching his chest as he heaved in exhaustion.

After his fatigue waned, the Snotling decided to make use of this vantage point and with his new bird's eye view, he took in the sights before him.

"Wah..." This place...it was a lot bigger than expected, like big big, really damn huge. The whole expanse spans about an entire city or two, which is quite groundbreaking for what was basically an underground jungle.

The trees here could almost reach into the clouds if they had grown on the surface, giant, hulking monstrosities wandered over the horizon as endless flocks of chimeric birds and bats flew across the veiled sky.

Droplets of sapphire-blue glowing liquid dripped down from the ever-so-far stalactites on the rocky ceiling. The mysterious liquid flowed down into streams of magical water.

"Oh, daz lookz like an importen place!" The Snotling commented as he placed his hands above his eyes in a horizontal, roof-like manner.

Far away, in the distance, was a huge river that connected all of the streams into a single, giant body of water. The river glistened with magical might as monstrous beasts gathered around it like frogs attracted to swan meat.

He couldn't really make out much aside from the obvious details as it was quite a bit far, but he noted the magical river down nonetheless.

The Snotling held onto a small branch that branched out from his mother branch and completely uprooted the branching branch from his branch.

"Grr...branchin' branch!" He cursed aloud as it was quite an unexpectedly hard task for him to uproot that branch, this body was even more pathetic than he originally thought.

He then stripped the wooded bark out of the branch and all of the even smaller branches that branched out from this small branch, all with his bare hands, transforming the small tree branch into a wooded stick!

As if it were a toothpick, he stuck the stick into his goblinoid maws before he drilled it against his fangs, sharpening the point of the stick into a piercing shape.

"Grr...!" Blood dribbled down from his mouth as several teeth fell out from his jaws as if he had just eaten a bag of bricks, which wasn't that far off as the process of sharpening a stick with your teeth was quite painful, really painful.

He yanked the stick out of his mouth before a short stream of blood was released onto his chest, the tip of the stick was stained in a sadistic scarlet as its tip had been sharpened into the shape of a deadly spear.

"Choppa!" He excitedly showed off his new weapon to his boys as he held the bloodied spear high into the air with both hands, the pride emanating from his red-coloured eyes.

Wait, he had no boys...

Ahem, anyway. The wooden spear he held in his hands wasn't so much of a spear and really looked much more like an oversized toothpick, which it was.

But to someone of his goblinoid size, it was one hell of a weapon, a certified Choppa!

"Squeek!!!" A rabid scream was heard as the leaves above him rustled before a black shadow leapt out, demonic wings outstretched.

"Eh!!!???" It seems that in his excitement, the Snotling had accidentally invited some trouble.

Call it a learning experience, a sort of 'Welcome to the Dungeon' experience.
