Capítulo 23: Realization

"Twin Dragons of Earth and Sea!...."

Murmuring with a murderous smile, Kenshin stood, bathed in golden light while surrounded by two heavenly dragons that seemed to command incredible might.

Meanwhile, Toji's expression turned unnatural in an instant. On one hand, heavenly restriction users were not only unable to use cursed energy, they were sometimes unable to even see or feel the flow of it compared to normal sorcerers, hence that even made seeing cursed spirits a bit of a hustle.

However after honing his five senses to the peak of human capabilities he could finally sense Cursed energy to a degree. On the regular he wasn't supposed to be able to be able to see Cursed sporting such detail but right no, before him, two blue and green huge dragons revolved around Kenshin's figure making Toji doubt what he was witnessing at the moment.

'The terrifying aura from those beasts makes me dread, however if I play my cards right, I should be able to win this thing...'

Smiling to himself, Toji equipped himself with the soul splitting katana as well, holding two special grade weapons in his hand, as he grinned murderously.

*Go!!*

With a stretch of his hand, the two dragons instantly obeyed Kenshin's order, blasting towards Toji at sonic speed.

Landing furiously on the ground, the dark green dragon slammed its claws into the earth, causing a massive earthquake which generated a massive seismic force which instantly smashed towards Toji with immense destruction.

The blue dragon on the other hand remained in the sky and let out a loud roar.

The next moment, the clouds themselves seemed to obey its command, condensing into a massive stream of highly pressurized water which instantly crashed towards the assassin, leaving no room for escape.

The twin dragons of the Earth and Sea, were fabled creatures in Eastern Myth, being able to summon the might of the earth and the ocean. However, the abilities of Kenshin's shikigami were diverse and incomparably powerful.

For example, not only could the sea dragon use hydrokinesis, it could use its ability to heal wounds, though this ability had a limit and was not as versatile and powerful as Reverse Cursed Technique itself. For example it's healing ability could heal wounds and cuts, but it couldn't regenerate limbs or being a person back from near death. Not only that, if the sea dragon was to be killed the ability would die along with it.

The earth dragon was a force to reckon with on its own, being able to manipulate the very earth itself to attack and defend, while generating seismic waves of unparalleled crushing forces to decimate the opponent.

Even Toji couldn't help but marvel at the intensity of the incoming attacks, while he readied himself. And in the next moment, he hurled himself backwards wanting to move out of the range of the seismic force that was aimed at him, however in that moment the stream of high speed pressurized water was almost crashing into his figure.

Readying both the Inverted spear of heaven and the Soul splitting katana, he crossed both blades before his chest, wanting to use the special abilities of both blades to cancel out the cursed energy in the technique.

*BANG!*

The ground beneath his feet shattered in the next moment, as his body shot backwards like a cannonball and crashed into a wall. He had managed to cancel out the cursed energy in the attack, however the force generated from it wasn't something he could cancel out.

Before he could even react, Kenshin reappeared before him in a burst of speed and smashed his fist into the assassin's chest. However, the moment Kenshin landed the hit, Toji grabbed onto his fist, holding it in place and unleashed a kick that sent him flying.

Toji was about to go on the offensive once more when his five senses instantly dulled, a phenomenon that only occurred during an incoming danger. The next second, large spikes erupted from the earth and although he managed to dodge most of them using his unnatural agility, he was still unlucky, getting pierced through the chest and shoulders by about 3 spikes.

Gritting his teeth in annoyance, he shattered the spikes and right as he was about to move, Kenshin came at him once more unleashing a left hook, which the assassin tanked right to the face, before unleashing another one with immense strength that shattered Kenshin's nose.

The next moment, his senses dulled once more, as a long sword, a third grade weapon instantly pierced through his abdomen, moving at immense speeds. This was the same attack he had used against Satoru during their spar, and although Satoru had managed to dodge it, even his six eyes wasn't able to capture the attack up until the last moment. But unfortunately for Toji, he was no six eyes user and even with his trained senses, he still fell short.

*BANG!!!*

The next moment, a long earth spear and a large crescent blade made from pressurized water blasted towards him from both sides. Ripping out the cursed tool from his abdomen furiously, he tried leaping out of the way of both attacks, but was Kenshin going to give him the chance?

The blue haired youth arrived in a split second, launching multiple punch and kick combos towards the already injured assassin who found it hard to breathe at the moment, due to the cursed tool piercing his lungs.

Erupting with full strength, Toji fought back, however in his injured state, his senses were severely dulled. Taking full advantage of the situation, Kenshin unleashed blows upon blows onto the assasin's figure, before sending him flying towards the incoming spear with a kick.

Sighing, Toji maneuvered in mid air, allowing the spear to rio through another shoulder instead of his heart.

"Cough cough...."

After the dust settled, Kenshin walked towards Toji with a blade in hand, intently watching the figure of the assassin who was coughing out blood, with his Rinnegan.

"Damn. I've really gotten rusty haven't I?..." Chuckling to himself, Toji sat, resting his back against a pillar, while a Kenshin rubbed the blood that flowed from his nose.

"Who sent you?" Kenshin asked looking the man in the eye.

Chuckling Toji turned his gaze to the sky refusing to even talk anymore. Sighing again, he accepted his fate and closed his eyes. However in the last moment, he couldn't help but remember the face of his wife, daughter and his other son, who was soon going to be sold to The Zen'in clan.

Opening his eyes, he gazed into Kenshin's eyes and contemplated. If he had nothing to lose, he would've kept his pride to the very end, however the lives at stake here were his own family. His beloved wife and daughter, and now his son. It was because of them he took the mission in the first place. He was supposed to win and return safely fulfilling his deal with the scarred man, but now that he had lost, his family wasn't going to be spared even if he begged that man, so why not take a gamble with the youth before him. A youth he deemed on the level as the Gojo clan boy.

"Listen brat! I can give you information, but in exchange, I want you to promise to keep my wife and kids safe from that man..."

Looking into the boys eyes, Toji spoke with a small chuckle as Kenshin furrowed his brows. On the regular he would've killed Toji already, however he had useful information that would be helpful to him.

"And why does that man have control over the lives of your wife and kids?" Asking the assassin, Kenshin raised a brow.

"Sigh. The very reason why I took in the mission was because of a deal I made with him in the past...and now that I've failed to uphold my end of the bargain, the life of my family is at stake..."

Toji sighed and said, cursing inwardly for being stupid enough to trust that mind raping snake.

"So he ordered you to kill me, in exchange for the life of your family, interesting.."

Kenshin thought for a moment.

"He has a telepathic hold on the minds of the family, and with but a command, he could very well end their lives..."

The moment Toji's words sounded, Kenshin couldn't help but be stunned for a moment.

"Mind control?..." Kenshin was stunned for a moment. He didn't know of any Jujutsu sorcerer with the ability to mind control. Maybe he was a curse user or something...

"He's a member of the higher ups of the Jujutsu society, the man with the scar on his forehead, Kenzo..."

"What?!"

The moment Toji's words sounded, Kenshin staggered for a moment, while countless thoughts run through his mind at that instant. Why would his father's best friend try to get him assassinated.

Wasn't he the one who told him he was going to protect him and care for him? So how did this happen?

'Shit!' The next moment, Kenshin broke free of his sudden chain of thoughts as his Rinnegan glowed intensely.

After multiple interactions with the man, he found himself believing every word he spoke day by day. Even he didn't understand why he just seemed to believe him no matter what he said. It seems he was gradually being mind controlled by that man.

Looking towards Toji, Kenshin sighed and then spoke.

"I have more use for you being alive than dead...I'm going to kill that bastard and you're going to help me..."

Speaking with wrath, Kenshin's Rinnegan glowed, Toji sighed and propped himself up and nodded lightly.

After flinging a sheet of paper to Kenshin, he disappeared from where he stood.
