"I do love her," Louis whispered with a resigned look. "You don't know there's so much you don't understand..."

"Do you think I'm stupid? Do you think I'll trust you?" Angelica questioned. "If you love my mother, you wouldn't have made her a mistress. You wouldn't have left us... I don't need to understand anything else!" she continued firmly.

Louis fell silent, while Charlie stood behind Angelica.

"You left her... Don't you know it would hurt her? I think you have no shame in declaring your love. You're not worthy to say that!" Angelica exclaimed, overcome by emotion.

"I left both of you out of necessity... I had no choice," Louis replied with a sorrowful gaze. "I had to go back to my first wife... She controlled my life and my family..."
