"By the way, Elizabeth, what's that behind you?"

At the regretful question, Elizabeth abandoned her cool expression to one of confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked puzzled, not understanding why Erik had brought up that repentant thing.

Despite her bewilderment, she glanced back but detected nothing, which caused a frown to appear on her brow as she found no presence behind her.

'What do you mean "behind"? Is he seeing something with those eyes of his?' mused Elizabeth, holding her breath as she examined the area behind her, to no avail. This situation only intensified the frown on her face.

She looked at Erik with the suspicion that perhaps he was trying to make a joke to change the mood. However, observing the seriousness in his expression, Elizabeth's confusion increased, generating some frustration in her as she perceived the sincerity in Erik's words.
