Capítulo 51: A Gift
"We'll leave immediately once anything happens!" Law suppressed his shock and quietly whispered to his crew. He understood that Whitebeard was still alive. Even if the supernovas united, they couldn't match Whitebeard's might. It was better to run and save their lives than risk losing them in vain.
"Yes!" The crew nodded quickly in agreement. As Law prepared to escape, the other supernovas also had the same thought. They never intended to engage in battle from the beginning; their approach was to confirm whether Whitebeard was still alive or not.
"Guurarara~" On the other side, Whitebeard stood on the ship's bow, gazing at the supernovas on their ships and let out a hearty laugh. "You little kid, did you want to be my enemy?!"
BOOM! With those words, his Haki erupted. His Conqueror's Haki surged like a raging wave, causing the sea to tremble violently, boiling and splashing around. Traveling a great distance, it collided with the supernova fleet, shaking their ships.
The ship boards and railings couldn't withstand the force, cracking and breaking apart. Ordinary crew members clutched their necks, faces turning red, eyes bulging, struggling for breath as if suffocating. With a popping sound, one by one fell into a coma.
In a flash, the supernova combined fleet was left with the captain and a few strong crew members still standing. Whitebeard, from beginning to end, only uttered a single word, "What a terrible Haki!"
Kid was drenched in cold sweat, never imagining Conqueror Haki could reach such an astounding level. "Let's get out of here, Kid!" Killer's voice trembled. His strength was not better than Kid's, and his hands and feet felt heavy and unresponsive in the face of such overwhelming Haki.
"We're not ready to take on someone this strong just yet!" Kid wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, then turned away. With the helmsman unconscious, Kid took charge of the helm, ready to change course and sail away from this sea.
"Whitebeard, we never meant to be your enemies!" Law replied loudly. He also turned and walked to the rudder position, immediately changing the direction. Witnessing the sudden change, the other supernovas swiftly leaped off the bow of their ships, choosing not to engage with Whitebeard in any way.
In a matter of moments, the united supernova fleet, which had arrived with aggression, departed without even a single shot fired. "Did they retreat?"
"But why did these guys come here in the first place?" Marco scratched his head, appearing puzzled and confused. Upon hearing about the approaching supernova fleet, he assumed that these newcomers were foolishly attempting to challenge the might of the Whitebeard Pirates.
Unexpectedly, Whitebeard merely intimidated them. The supernova, known as the Worst Generation, ran away without even trying. They displayed remarkable skill in escape without any hesitation.
In just a few moments, the supernova fleet became a black spot, about to disappear.
"Hahahaha~" Jozu laughed. "These cowardly fellows are probably scared, just like anyone would be. How could they muster the courage to challenge Father!"
"Father, should we pursue them?" Vista looked up at Whitebeard. "Although the supernovas didn't do anything, these people obviously didn't have any good intentions!"
"Guurarara~" Whitebeard chuckled and raised his fist to the side. BOOM! With a strike, the air shattered into pieces. The powerful shockwave rippled across the sea, sweeping everything in its path. The sea erupted in chaos, and a huge wave swept up from a distance, rushing towards the supernova fleet under a rumbling sound.
The supernovas, who believed they had escaped, suddenly filled with horror as they witnessed the incoming huge tsunami.
"How did such a massive wave suddenly appear in the sea?" Urouge shouted in disbelief.
"It's said that Whitebeard can control the waves with his power. This wave is definitely not natural; it must be Whitebeard's doing!" Law's expression turned grim as a troubling thought crossed his mind.
"According to divination, our survival rate has dropped from 68% to 22%," Hawkins spoke with a serious tone. "In other words, if we can't avoid this huge wave, we will be buried in this sea!"
"Haha…hahahaha…" Kid's expression shifted, and he let out a low smile, eventually bursting into mad laughter. "Is this the strength of the strongest man in the world? Is this the strength of the people of the New World? I really look forward to being in the New World more and more. Set sail!"
"This lunatic!" Bonney gritted her teeth. She didn't understand why Kid could still laugh at this moment.
"Hhahaha~" Kid continued, "This is the first big gift Whitebeard gave us. If you want to go to the second half of the Grand Line, then take this gift! I hope you guys don't… die here!" Kid sneered as he steered the ship alongside Killer, greeting the approaching waves fearlessly.
He received a gift from Whitebeard and was extremely satisfied with it. Because of this huge wave, he understood one thing: The second half of the Grand Line, the New World, and the first half of the Grand Line, Paradise, are completely different!
"Face the waves!" Kid didn't care about the other supernovas. Amidst the roar, he steered the ship towards the towering waves. BOOM! The waves rumbled, and the ships bobbed on the water's surface. The supernovas from the first half of the Grand Line were facing their first crisis before entering the New World. If they succeeded, they would enter the New World. But if they failed, it showed that they lacked the strength to establish themselves in the New World. Even if they managed to reach the New World, they would either be killed by other pirates or easily defeated.
