"That's a terrifying power!"
A startled voice echoed through the prison.
Rain Shiryu, who had been lurking in the shadows, revealed himself, his expression a mix of shock and fascination as he looked at Whitebeard.
The inmates of Eternal Hell were a rebellious lot, but it only took a short while for Whitebeard to silence them with his sheer presence. This level of fear and respect spoke volumes about Whitebeard's strength, and it left Shiryu awestruck.
"Jailer?!"
Joz, upon seeing the person who had appeared, had a noticeable change in his expression. He immediately positioned himself in front of Whitebeard, and the diamond's radiance climbed up his arm.
"The former chief, Shiryu of Rain!"
Whitebeard fixed his gaze on Shiryu, and a tremendous aura burst forth from him, crashing like a furious wave. He asked in a commanding tone, "Do you wish to become... my enemy?!!!"
Boom!
The overwhelming pressure surged, causing Shiryu to stagger backward. His previous confidence had dissipated entirely, and he was now drenched in cold sweat, his breathing becoming heavy. He had known that Whitebeard was formidable, but he had never anticipated that Whitebeard's Haki alone would make him feel so powerless.
Facing such a formidable Haki, he felt like a small boat adrift in a tempestuous sea, ready to be swallowed by the waves at any moment.
"I harbor no ill intent."
"Furthermore, I was imprisoned by Magellan before. I am no longer the head of Impel Down. I only appeared to assist you!"
Shiryu of Rain struggled to convey this message, attempting to quell the rising threat of an attack.
He knew that any further missteps might indeed provoke an attack from Whitebeard.
After speaking, he swiftly produced the prison key he had obtained from the jailer and handed it to Joz.
"Hmm?"
Joz was taken aback.
Unexpectedly, the situation had taken a complete turnabout. However, he reacted swiftly, accepting the key and using it to unlock Jinbei's cell, setting the fish-man free.
"Pops Whitebeard!"
Jinbei approached Whitebeard with a mixture of excitement and relief.
"I'm okay."
Whitebeard reassured him.
"I'm fine as well, but the Ace brothers have been taken to Marineford. However, they haven't left long, and we are in pursuit. We might be able to catch up!"
Jinbei reported hurriedly.
"It's too late."
Whitebeard shook his head.
Twenty minutes might not be a long time, but it wasn't short either. Moreover, with Warden Magellan outside, an immediate pursuit was unlikely to succeed.
Recognizing this, he didn't dwell on the issue but turned his attention back to Shiryu of Rain.
"Shiryu, what's your reason for aiding me?"
"To escape from here."
Shiryu of Rain wiped the sweat from his brow and breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, he realized just how close he had come to being attacked by Whitebeard. The pressure Whitebeard exerted was immense.
He understood that he could have been killed with a single wrong word, so when questioned, he dared not hide anything.
"If you want to leave this place, then come with me to Marineford!"
Whitebeard didn't reject the idea. His goal was to release all the prisoners and bolster his fighting force, and Shiryu of Rain was a strong addition to his crew.
After delivering his words, without waiting for a response, Whitebeard turned his head and directed his gaze at the prisoners.
"Do any of you wish to leave?!"
The prisoners, hearing this, stared at Whitebeard with widened eyes.
"Eternal Hell has ten slots. Before I depart, I'll take ten of you to Marineford!"
"If you desire to escape these confines, then fight as much as you wish!"
Whitebeard's voice resonated deeply.
As his words settled in, the prisoners' eyes gleamed with anticipation.
Many of them harbored grudges against Whitebeard, yet in the face of the allure of freedom, such enmities seemed insignificant.
In a matter of moments, screams echoed throughout Eternal Hell.
The pungent scent of blood permeated the air.
In just ten minutes, the tumultuous cacophony ceased, and Eternal Hell returned to its prior tranquility.
"Joz, open the prison doors!"
Whitebeard ordered.
"Yes!"
Joz responded loudly, swinging open the cell doors.
In the recent brawl, most had perished, leaving only a handful alive.
These survivors represented the cream of the crop among the formidable prisoners.
Among them were the 'Original Shichibukai' Crocodile, 'Crescent Hunter' Catalina Depeng, 'Huge Battleship' San Juan·Wicked Wolf, 'Big Wine' Basque Choate, 'Evil King' Abarro Pi Salo, along with the 'Original Shichibukai' Jinbei and the defected Rain Shiryu.
In a mere span of minutes, Whitebeard had assembled a high-caliber fighting force.
These individuals could be deployed to the front lines of battle, and even if they didn't give their all, they would still be capable of countering the Marines' elite combatants, creating an opportunity for Ace's rescue.
"Joz!"
Whitebeard surveyed his assembled forces and issued a command.
"Father!"
"You go to the other levels of Hell first, liberate the surviving prisoners, and then rendezvous with Bista. I'll join you later."
"Yes, Father!"
Joz nodded and departed.
After Joz vanished from sight, Whitebeard turned back and walked toward a cell, wielding his massive blade.
Inside the cell, lifeless figures stood upright, but at the center, there sat a vibrant crimson figure.
This figure remained restrained by chains, evidently unwilling to leave with Whitebeard.
"Long time no see, Ryder!"
Whitebeard entered the cell, and his towering presence engulfed the crimson-clad figure in the fiery glow.
Ryder, the Crimson Earl—Patric Redfield!
One of the kings of the old era, a man who could rival Roger and Whitebeard himself!
After Roger's execution, he had a confrontation with Marshal Kong. Although he emerged victorious, his strength was depleted, allowing Garp to seize the opportunity to imprison him in Impel Down's sixth level.
In the original storyline, Ryder eventually escapes by obtaining the Bat Bat Fruit.
However, Whitebeard, desperately in need of additional firepower, couldn't afford to let such a formidable individual slip away under his watch.
"I never imagined we would reunite under these circumstances... Newgate."
Ryder, dressed in a vibrant crimson gentleman's attire, opened his eyes and regarded the old friend and foe he hadn't seen in years.
"Goo la la la~"
"It's been quite some time since someone addressed me by my name!"
Whitebeard raised his head and chuckled, his blade's hilt striking the prison floor with a resounding thud. "Impel Down has been breached by my hand."
"Ryder... Come with me to Marineford!"
