Purple Summers anticipated that Caitlin Carter would come; it was her younger brother's case, and she couldn't possibly be indifferent to it.
"Purple, I..." Caitlin Carter stood at the door, her emotions running high, "My younger brother's case..."
"Come in," Purple Summers stepped aside to let Caitlin Carter in, then closed the door behind her.
"I have to go out in a moment, so let's cut to the chase, you must find it strange why Edward Carter refused Mr. Rieste."
Caitlin Carter nodded blankly, indeed, not only she found it strange, everyone did.
"Because Mr. Rieste got Edward Carter's alibi. As long as it's proven in court that Edward Carter was on a date with his affair partner at the time of the crime, he could clear his name."
Purple Summers rifled through the documents on the table, selected a few pages, and handed them to Caitlin Carter.
"Unfortunately, this is a secret Edward Carter would rather go to prison than reveal."
