Wayne Bailey wanted to dominate and make the swap directly, the words were already on the tip of his tongue when he thought of the respect he once spoke of and swallowed them down hard.
"What should we wear for lunch at noon? Does it need to be formal? Will it be at an outside restaurant or are we going to The Harringtons' Estate?" Anna Jadwin asked, her eyes full of expectation.
"I've arranged for a hotel, going to the estate to pay respects is what weak people do. You rest at home, I'll take care of it."
"I'm not going? Why?" Anna Jadwin was disappointed.
"Do you really want to go?" he gritted his teeth, he had agreed to follow her wishes; if she really wanted to go, how could he stop her?
"I want to see what Mr. Harrington is like."
Seeing her eyes sparkling, Wayne Bailey decided that no matter what, he couldn't let her go.
"What about the child?"
"We can bring them along. At the auction, didn't you bring them?"
