Evelyn Sherman bit her lip, refusing to back down.

Just when she thought that if she didn't agree, Chester Yale would force her to comply in some other way, he simply stood up from the desk, picked up his jacket, and walked out.

His footsteps hesitated slightly as he passed by her side.

The towering figure turned towards her, his long fingers grasping her chin, "I'm going out for a bit, be good and wait for me at home."

If he didn't add that last part, she'd be grateful!

Evelyn's eyes dimmed, and she grabbed the hem of his jacket, "When will you let me go? Do you really want to lock me up for a lifetime?"

"A lifetime..."

Chester Yale's thin lips opened slightly, slowly squeezing a few words out of his lips, as if he was chewing on the possibility of that statement.

Then, his cold gaze met hers, and he sneered.

"There won't be a lifetime between us."

There wouldn't be one since that incident four years ago.
